Natalie's Flower Studio announcement

It's with a very very heavy heart and after much deliberation and thought, I will be closing my dairy for business as of today, something I never imagined that i'd have to say, I'm a qualified florist with top college and university training, I run my studio from home that I've put so much money into, but, being a sole business trader I'm increasingly finding it difficult to compete with supermarkets, online flowers, on line flower deliveries, on line market traders etc hence combining the all of this with my working day life at a profit, I'm working at a loss due to inflation rises in our every day lives, I so much value all your custom and your support along my wonderful journey, you all made my dream come true, for this I'll be forever grateful to you all, I will still continue to do anything on request to help you all tho so please don't hesitate to drop me a message in the future, so, thank you all once again so very much from the bottom of my heart, you've all been super amazing and I couldn't have done this with our you,

Good morning to you all on this lovely sunny morning, here are a few tips on Lily care to help you to look after and prolong your beautiful Lilies for display,

Help to make them last longer,

Buy your Lilies a fresh as possible, the more flower heads that the stem has then the Lily life span can be shorter so it's better if you buy 1 flower head stems if possible,
Cut the stems at a sharp angle to enhance the stem hole to enable more water up the stem,
Remove all the leaves but you can leave just a few at the top for foliage decoration,
Remove all pollen stems from the centre of the flower head, the pollen will stain your furnishings and clothes, also removing the pollen will help prolong the Lily life and remember to always wear gloves,
Arrange in tepid water with either cut flower food or your home made solution, water should ideally be just 1/2 way filling your container,
Opened Lilies are better displayed out of direct sunlight,
Change the water daily, remove any dying flowers, continue to feed.

How to open your closed Lily heads faster

Place in a container of tepid water before arranging until you've got your required opening,
Cut the stem shorter approx 1-2 inches every 4 hours at a sharp angle to encourage the flower to drink the water
Store in a warm room or in the natural light

SAINT GEORGE'S DAY is celebrated every year on April 23rd, today,

The flower that marks this day is the Red Rose,
Wearing a Red Rose in your lapel on St George's Day goes back many centuries and we still carry on with this tradition today
St George is our Patron Saint and the Red Rose is our National flower

Happy Earth Day around the world every one,

Earth Day is celebrated every year on 22nd April,
Earth Day marks the anniversary of what we understand as the birth of nature in our modern environment,
Be the change you want to see in our new world and make a life style change, there are lots of changes that we can do,
Plant flowers especially for the beautiful bees,
Resist picking wild flowers and plants and let then grow naturally, not only are wild flowers beautiful to see but need to be left to grow in their natural environment,
Get your children involved by simply planting a fruit pip, watch it grow and plant it, get them to plant and grow flower seeds,
There are so so many things you can do together.

CARING FOR YOUR CUT DAFFODILS
Some helpful tips from Natalie s Flower Studio

Try to buy your daffodils partly closed, they will last longer and start to open after a few days once in water
Cut the stems at a sharp angle, this prevents water bubbles clogging up the stems so that the daffodils can't get enough water and food
Partly fill your container with room temperature water, daffodils prefer shallow water
Change the water every couple of days and feed every time

Daffodils have a tubular hollow stem that has a milky sap that is highly poisonous to other flowers particularly to Tulips so only arrange with other flowers of the daffodils family,

How ever, if you want to mix your daffodils with other flowers then I suggest that you soak them separately 1st for at least a day, keep changing the milky looking water as much as you can, once the water is clear then this is a sign that all the poisonous sap has gone and should be safe to mix with other flowers

No flower preservative ( flower food) then try this home made alternative

Mix together
2 tablespoons of lemon juice
1 tablespoon of sugar
1/2 teaspoon of bleach, ( any make)
Add the mixture to your water

Just another little tip to help you all, have fun with your flowers 🌿

Marches flower is the daffodils,
Daffodils symbol that spring is near and are the Welsh national flower for St David who is their patron saint,
They symbolise new beginnings, prosperity, faithfulness, creativity, hope and joy, resilience and forgiveness

Daffodils should be displayed in containers on their own and not with other flowers, I'll be posting on how to care for your daffodils on a separate post

MOTHERS DAY Sunday 27th march, Natalie's Flower Studio will be closed from 14th March until April 3rd. Good day to you all, Natalie's Flowers Studio is just putting the feelers out, I'm considering selling ' Make Your Own Kits' you don't have to be experienced at flower crafts because kits will start off very simple and easy to do, just your imagination is needed and it's fun for all ages, all kits will include everything that you will need ie, artificial flowers, ribbons, foliage, oasis, picks etc, ( no wires included if needed due to health and saftey), these kits can be for any occasion too, to begin with I'll be doing hoop kits, your response and feed back is very much appreciated even it's a simple yes or no before I decide if it's worth doing.....sharing of my post is greatly appreciated, Thank you 🌿

Some helpful tips for your roses....

Place in fresh clean water as soon as possible
Roses are a summer flower so they prefer luck warm water to cold and feed them
Remove any leaves so they don't go in the water
Cut the flower stem at an angle and change the water every couple of days
Display out of direct Sun light
Multiple roses....Remove any wilting dieing roses because they will release a toxic gas that any thriving roses don't like

These few tips will help you to enjoy your roses a little bit longer 🌹🌿
