12 years married to this one.
This one being Mr Jamie. Simply the best human. Hilarious, optimistic, zen. I am just as in love with him now as when we met 13 years ago, more actually.

If you have the good fortune to know him or have met him you will agree he is key to my happiness.
And I know I will have bored you to tears with the stories of exactly how we met (a blind date) and how I fell in love with the sound of his voice before I’d met him fave to face and how we went house hunting on our 3rd date and within the year were married…so I won’t bore you again…but that’s the thing with love stories isn’t it? They retain their intrigue and charm no matter how many years pass, and this is of course my favourite one.

It was my husband’s parent’s wedding anniversary recently. 54 years married. Pretty cool hey?

Happy 54 years and Trudy! 🥂

Everyone has their things that are important in their relationship and it’s something that I am always keen to find out about when we work together.

Once we’ve uncovered them they are woven throughout your ceremony, sometimes leading into your vows, always within your vows. These are the most powerful words.
Words that you will lean on in all your years together, words that will become more and more important each year.
And if you are lucky enough to reach 54 married years I hope having vows that were crafted just for you will have become the heartbeat of your marriage.

Last year Mr Jamie had the cabin for his summer office, this year it’s my turn!

My desk will undoubtedly start to look very lived in and I could forgo the tablecloth but it looks so pretty!

Current reading breaks include A home for all seasons and as I try and inject some more of me into my home through colour, texture, art, layers and seasonal finds.

And my bargain book find from the charity shop about daughter of the dales Hannah Hauxwell-I find simple (hard) ways of life fascinating and can’t wait to read about her. Maybe I’ll spend a few nights on the boat by myself and cook outside more…I draw the line at bathing in the river though! It’s freezing! And I love the rhythm of Larkrise to Candleford so I’ll definitely be dipping into that and enjoying picturing the scenes of old village life.

I find inspiration for my ceremonies through so much around me but it’s your story that gives me the very best grounding, the poetry you choose, the places you’ve been, your friends and family, your relationship and values and even where you have chosen to hold your ceremony gets a deep dive from me to discover its history and significance.

Today I have the day to reset from a busy week and am having coffee with it’s been ages!

I hope January has been what you needed it to be-I’m grateful for the gentle start to my year and am looking forward to spending time with all my couples in the lead up to their weddings!

Ooh it feels like Spring today!

Yesterday I had a wonderful tutorial with an trainee as part of my role as a wedding celebrant tutor-always wonderful!

Followed by an email from someone local looking into training and wanting to get the lo down on the reality of being a wedding celebrant (believe it or not it isn’t all dressing up and standing up front talking for half an hour!) So a meeting has been arranged 🙌🏽

Then a lovely phone call (old school I like it!!) From a new celebrant who had attended one of my webinars last year in need of a bit of guidance which I was more than happy to provide.

So my point is my door/email/phone is always open and for something more specific then do reach out for a mentor hour which I make space for each month.

✨✨✨
The fire was lit in the cabin (it is much roomier than my writing shed and the stove is a bit bigger) I had a little electric seat pad, blankets, a small heater and hot water bottle!
Biscuits-chocolate chip and lots of cups of tea.
Soundtrack: raindrops on the river-bliss!

Today’s work took me head first into a love story filled with travels and adventures, weaving in poetry and ritual, fun and frivolity, creating space for reflection and gratitude…
I will read about your story and then dream your ceremony over and over before, when it feels ready to bubble over I begin writing it down. I can’t rush it.
Today I dictated it, experimenting with a playful approach crafting it in a fun and lighthearted way.

Over the next few days it shall be refined and polished until it utterly shines! Then I will read it aloud again making any final adjustments before it is ready to be sent for that all important first read by the couple.

Of course that’s just the paper part, the magic is in the delivery and the emotion of the couple on the day. Carrying that responsibility is the most beautiful privilege.

“Falling in love with you was as easy as breathing~”

Your ceremony is always about reflecting you.
For Sacha & Chris it encompassed a fairytale like quality with deep symbolism. From celestial references, personally written vows, meaningful poetry, a hand tying and broom jump.

When we sat in my lounge over nibbles for almost three hours talking, the details began to surface and their ceremony began to take shape.

This work is deeply inspiring, utterly creative and though traditional elements often remain always feels fresh and original.

Slowing down…. Yes I lit my candles for the purpose of this video, yes I blew them out after, then moved them to their safer spots. #safetyfirst #candlesafe I’m slowing down, or more like switching down a gear…it’s the first weekend of many festive gatherings for me/my family. Lunch with friends, family days, parties and events, I’m am so looking forward to letting my hair down (I’ve got 4 child free parties to go to!!!) but also being mum/hosting some memory making times for my children filled with the awe and gratitude and a healthy dose of he said/she said 🤣 But something betwixt Christmas and New Year is filling me with so much joy, visiting a gorgeous couple in the new home they had dreamt of when we were planning their wedding a couple of years ago…I’ve been invited to visit!!
