SCD Bonfire Night 🔥🎆

We are so excited to be hosting our 2nd bonfire night for the community in Tomatin.

Gates open at the Strathdearn Primary School 5pm.
~Bonfire will be lit 530pm
~Fireworks 550pm

6pm onwards:-
The night doesn’t end just yet…. We are also inviting you back to The Strathdearn:-

Tastes of Tomatin - licensed bar and hot food 🍻
Executive Entertainment (Disco Inverness) - music and karaoke 🪩💃
Treats on The Street - bubble waffles, freshly made doughnuts and hot chocolates 🍩
Marshmallow toasting 😋
Transport will be provided at the end of the event

Free entry 😀

We will also have sparklers available at the primary school gates and within the school field. Please do not take your own sparklers - we have plenty to go around. 🎇

Cook - Rural Café
Location: ​Tomatin
Pay: ​£14.00 per hour
Contract: Permanent
Hours: ​22.5 hours per week, working 3 days out of 7

We are delighted to be supporting our client, White River Trading (WRT), to recruit a cook who will be responsible for food preparation in their rural shop and café. This is an exciting role which is based in the beautiful village of Tomatin, less than 20 minutes from Inverness and Aviemore.
The cook will work in the community shop and café, a beautiful facility within a stunning hub complex that is in the heart of the village. This is more than a 9 – 5 position and flexibility will be required, including working weekends and occasional evenings.
The shop and café were recently brought back under community management. This presents an exciting opportunity to join our client at the start of their journey.

The Strathdearn: General Assistant

Up to £13.50 per hour (depending on experience)
Part-time (at least 15 hours per week)
Monday-Friday, although occasional weekend and evening working will be required.

The Strathdearn are recruiting part-time General Assistants. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this is an interesting and varied role that will help with all aspects of the day to day operations of The Strathdearn and will encompass a range of responsibilities, including customer service duties, administration, and basic maintenance.

Duties must be covered between the General Assistants, so if you don’t have experience in all the responsibilities but are stronger in another, we’d still welcome your application.

What will you do?
Typically, you will be responsible for:

• Administration such as meetings, events, and function bookings, organise trades to undertake maintenance as per the Maintenance Plan and fire alarm testing and recording.
• Basic maintenance such as path inspections, watering plants, litter picking, visual inspections and arrange planned maintenance of The Strathdearn, MUGA, children’s play park and other SCD assets.
• Room set up for meetings, events, and functions.
• Open and close The Strathdearn before and after meetings, events, and functions.
• Meet, greet and service customer needs.
• Undertake tidying up and cleaning duties.
• Complying with statutory and company health and safety obligations.

Training and support will be provided.

Update on the Electric Vehicle Upgrades at The Strathdearn🚘🌿

The upgrade on the chargers is making good progress, with the carpark bays being reinstated, except for the bays bedside the EV charging points.

The estimated revised timescales for completion are now aiming for the chargers to be delivered and installed on 25th July, with onsite works now expected to run into the 1st and 2nd week of August. Current dates from the SSEN for the final connection is 20th August but we are hoping this can be brought forward.

We thank the community for their patience during the ‘works period’ and we look forward to completing this as soon as possible.
