🧡 Chrysanthemum Allouise Salmon 🧡

Love them or hate them?

The ones at the allotment have all flowered on insanely sturdy stems with millions of flower buds, the ones at home are just behind them.

Fantastic vase life too 🤩

Only issue I can see is I need to lift them and store somewhere with protection over winter, don’t fancy losing my stock to the bitter frosts ❄️

I definitely need to propagate some extra plants come spring! 🥰

Rainy Saturday and the best news!! No more hose pipe ban!! 🥳🥳🥳 it has rained a lot recently and I doubt anyone is running out to fill their paddling pools 😂 but I’m pleased, let’s hope it lasts and I can stop injuring my shoulder lugging heavy watering cans at the allotment!!

In other news, statice drying is fully underway! I’m going to have so much fun creating beautiful things over the winter 🤩🤩

Anyone want any tips on drying flowers? Best flowers to grow to dry? Drop a msg below and I will do some posts 🌸🌿

🌸Duchesse De Nemours🌸

This is a stunning scented early peony, such a beautiful buttery white, how amazing would this be for a wedding!!

Which of yours are flowering? So far Coral charm and pink Hawaiian Charm have bloomed and gone over while Duchesse is opening and looking perfect 🤩🤩

🌸Emily Brontë🌸

I have this beautiful shrub rose planted arguably too close to the viburnum shrub, but I love how it mingles and grows through it, I think they compliment each other 😍 come autumn too when the viburnum flowers turn to cherry red berries, and the rose hips match back beautifully. Perfect fit I’d say ☺️

Hope I’m not the only person who ignores plant spacing? 😆🤭🤪

🌼 Blushing Lady Narcissi 🌼

I bought a big bag of these beautiful bulbs in autumn as I loved her so much last year. I do love the big show offs, but the small multi headed scented varieties are just 👌🏻

What’s blooming in your garden, any new favourites?

Was planning on allotmenting again yesterday but it chucked it down all day so a quick damp stomp round Sissinghurst it was!

Hope you all had a great weekend ❤️

Good morning all, I have a couple of dried flower wreaths for sale, a pretty pastel pink small (approx 13cm) hoop £7 and a larger (approx 18cm) blue/purples £10. Both made with flowers dried from my garden, everything grown right here in Marden, even the eucalyptus 😍 I will have more of these so drop me a message if you want anything specific.

The growing season is approaching and I’m growing mainly to dry this year, I love spending time creating something unique 🌸

In this hot weather and being kept busy by work I’ve barely been in the garden, a few stolen moments. I have however spotted a perk of neglect, lots of seed pods!

Today I collected; sweet rocket, poppy, cornflower and chinese forget me nots.

I want to reduce the amount I autumn sow and mother over winter and shall be sprinkling my harvest liberally !! 🌿🌱😀

So easy to collect seed, the only guide I really go by is if the pod is green, give it time, if it’s brown and crispy then you can sprinkle ✨

Are you seed saving?

Perennial Phlox, what a beauty 😍
Lovely long straight stems 🤩
Large full flowers with a beautiful sweet scent..

I must remember to divide it this year, hope to get a few new plants 🤞🏻🤞🏻I forgot last year 🤣

Busy at work currently so barely any time in the garden but I’ve got odd days of holiday dotted about and a long list!! 🥴🤪

How is everyone feeling, juggling all the jobs! Feels like the garden has grown so much the last few weeks, I need to get on top of it! 🙃

Had such a lovely day with one of my oldest friends, I feel so lucky to have such strong friendships, standing the test of 20 odd years.

Snapped this picture of our Rey trying to snooze while my friend and I lounged in the late afternoon sunshine. Occasionally being squirted by a rogue water pistol 🔫 🤣🤦🏼‍♀️

Also pictured; the Cobaea scandens soaking up the late sun, some pretty snaps and lilies 🌸🌼 dahlias still small and unproductive 🤷🏼‍♀️🙄

Hope you are all managing to enjoy this beautiful sunshine ☀️ happy weekend all xx

This cat causes me a fair amount of stress, she breaks something once a day 🙃 she’s taken to eating and chewing anything, shoes.. loo rolls.. letters that come through the door 🤷🏼‍♀️ I had no idea kittens did that?! 🤣

Rey and her sister Mando keep us on our toes but I’m so happy they now both love coming outside with me to garden. It’s nice to have company while I’m chatting to my plants 🤓🤪

Can you train cats to eat slugs?! 🧐🤔

Hello hello 👋🏻 another busy week, this time taken up with children and motorway traffic 😂🤪

Managed an hour in the garden this evening, we are due a thunderstorm overnight so I picked the open peonies to have in the house. Save them from shedding their petals in the wind and rain.

Aren’t they amazing??! 🤩😍🌸

I spent most of yesterday out in the front garden, it amazes me how quick some jobs are and how long and arduous others are. Highlight was getting some dahlias in, lowlight was picking out ground elder root from the dahlia bed 🙃🙃

It’s progress! I cut back some spring bulb foliage, that felt good. I weeded.. I popped a few scabious and statice plants into the longer border..

Swipe to end to see how well the stock are looking! (I must stake these asap!)

Building up the pots around the new bench, I’ve more to add!

I’ve still got to change over the biggest pots in the back garden and find homes for 40 odd dahlias.. and hundreds of plug plants I’ve grown 🥴🥴 I have to remind myself I feel like this every year..

One job at a time.

And give away excess plants 🤣🤣🙌🏻

Have a great day all xx

Evening flower picking is back!! Pulled up these gorgeous tutti frutti* tulips, I wasn’t originally sure I liked them but they’ve grown on me! Bolder is better??

Who else is obsessing over their tulips this year? 😍😍

*not their official name, I don’t label so it’s an adopted variety name 😂🤷🏼‍♀️

The cherry blossom is starting to flower, soon it will be a huge fluffy cloud ☁️

This is my favourite tree the the whole world 🌎 and brings me so much happiness, for about a week 😂 then it sheds all its petals and turns our front garden into a winter wonderland 🤣❄️🌨

Another chaotic week over here, had my birthday and barely noticed 😂 I did enjoy a lovely lunch with my parents and am celebrating at the weekend with a night away with my little gang to do some exploring in london.

Just wish I had more time to chat on stories and read/comment on all the wonderful spring content. From what I have seen, everyone’s gardens are going to be amazing this year!!! 👏🏻👏🏻

Hope you all have a wonderful day enjoying the sunshine ☀️

I’ve not really posted this week, didn’t have the energy for it. So much suffering happening in the world gave me lots of anxious feelings. However I’ve woken up this morning and seen some local posts on social media collecting aid or donations and feel at least I can do something, it’s not much but it’s some action. So I shall be looking through the house for items on those lists! I urge you to do the same if you are able to.

Spring is arriving bit by bit here, I couldn’t be happier! Everyday I’ve something new to stare at 😂👀😍 so thankful for these slices of joy ✨

Hope to hop on stories at lunch for a seedling chat if work doesn’t get too manic, chat later ☺️

A cold and blustery Sunday, husband disappeared to the gym.. boys fighting over toys.. time for a walk 😅

Saw this beautiful blossom and it put such a smile on my face, enough even to cope with the fight over who got to carry the big stick home 🤣🙄

Come on Spring, we are excited to see you 💛

Anyone else blossom hunting?

I realised I didn’t ever post a picture of the garland I made 🤦🏼‍♀️ life got so busy all of a sudden, so I hope you will forgive the Christmassy photos.. I haven’t taken it or my wreath down yet and not sure I want to!! 🤷🏼‍♀️🤣

Do you think it’s bad luck to leave the garland and wreath up past 12th night?

Swipe to see the details ❤️

Ranunculus, my nemesis 😱 we’ve reached the point I got to last year before I decided to plant them out in jan and promptly killed them.. not this year!! 🤣 I’ve potted them on into 9cm pots to let them get bigger and stronger while I wait for the right conditions 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Need to also dust off the mini poly tunnel I had last year…

How are u getting on?

I’ve never been so crafty before, I just can’t stop crafting!! Maybe it’s this time of uncertainty we are in AGAIN, all the doom and gloom, a fun little escape where all I have to think about is messing about with dried flowers and glue guns, or pressed flowers and varnish 😍

My latest homemade creation, a ceramic bauble I added pressed flowers to. It’s very homemade, but it’s fun to experiment!

It doesn’t look out of place next to my two sons creations from over the years, but I love it and it makes me smile 😊

What’s making you smile and getting you through?
