Fun Matters provide GNAS qualified instructors to instruct and supervise, and all the equipment is checked and maintained to the highest standard.
Aluminium arrows are used with a variety of different bows to suit all ages and strengths - our instructors will take care of everything.
There are a variety of different targets, including the larger 128 cm targets for absolute beginners. However, once you have got the hang of it you may like to try your skills on the smaller 92 cm target. See if you can get a perfect score!

It sounds so simple - knock your opponent off their podium with a foam baton! That is super easy, right?
Well not so easy while maintaining your balance on the podium and at the same time swinging a large foam baton at your opponent.

7 ways to make your school enrichment day the best it can be!
At Fun Matters, we know a thing or two about making school enrichment days the best they can be. After all, we have been running school events for over 10 years. Over those years there are a few top tips we have picked up to ensure your school activity day runs like clockwork.
🔶 Plenty of space 🔶
Make sure you have factored in plenty of space for your event, you want to ensure there is plenty of open space between stations so groups/teams can move around easily between activities. A typical 6 - 8 station set up, like our It’s a knockout package, will require about a small football-sized pitch area. For most schools, we tend to recommend using a playing field of some form, either football, cricket or rugby.
It is also worth considering the suitability of the space for this type of event and the time of year. If you are running an event in the height of summer then this should be less of an issue but English summers are notoriously unpredictable. So, consider how well the site will hold up in rain, especially if your event is being held in autumn or spring.

Leavers are also encouraged to come in fancy dress which makes for a fantastic spectacle. Seeing how all the 6th formers manage with their fancy dress on each of the activity stations. Fun Matters also brings along our chicken suits or Sumo suits to add to the hilarity of the day and the fancy dress.

We’re big fans of school fun days. The team at Fun Matters really enjoy being part of an event that encourages young people to have a positive experience, whatever their abilities, and interact in a happy and exciting environment.
Activities are planned that allow the students to focus on mental and physical challenges that find them working as teams, enhancing their problem-solving skills, and learning how to improve communicating with each other. Archery and laser clays, for example, provided a chance to test coordination, precision, control and focus.

This challenge is just like clay pigeon shooting but without the ammunition, kickbacks from the gun or gunshot noise.
We use decommissioned double-barrelled guns - so you get two shots at every clay - that are fitted with lasers to hit the clay.
The plastic clay is released from a shooting trap and all the participant has to do is keep a keen eye and pull the trigger to hit the target. We shoot in groups of five and points are scored for hitting a clay, which is recorded on the control box. Easy.

Competition makes for great teamwork.
Stretch N' Score makes a great team game where teams can compete to score points and add up their totals, students run so much faster when their teammates are cheering them on from the sidelines.
First, they take the numbers from the central pillar, then run to the edge of the arena battling against another keen competitor. The first one to complete wins. Sounds easy enough, but not when your attached to an elastic bungee rope and are racing against time!
This game is just as much fun for the spectators as they see the competitors fly backwards as the bungee pulls them back to the centre.

This could include teachers, non-teaching staff, or even prefects and pupils. These helpers make all the difference in ensuring that everyone is looked after and the activity stations all run smoothly throughout the day. Roles for these helpers range from team scoring to managing turns and resetting games between rounds.

We have a range of activities that are perfect for challenging your balance and coordination. All in a completely safe environment.
For older pupils, we have the Bull Rodeo!
Dare you ride the bucking bronco? This is a total crowd-pleaser. Starting off nice and slowly, the mechanical bull builds up the tempo to displace its rider by spinning and bucking. The rider has to hold on with all their might or else they get thrown off … onto a soft inflatable landing area.
For the younger pupils, we have the Surfboard Simulator!
Surfing without getting wet. The mechanical surfboard will simulate different types of wave and current to give you all the thrills of surfing. All you have to do is stay on the board using your balancing skills and judgement. Positioned in the middle of an inflatable, if you do drop off the board your landing will be soft, and dry.

Show off your acrobatic abilities, enjoy gravity-defying high jumps or bounce just a little bit … the Xtreme Trampoline comes with bungee jumping technology for a real thrill.
All participants are secured into a harness that is attached to bungee cords. Attached to the top of poles on either side of the trampoline, these cords are tightened once the bouncy commences so great heights can be reached.
