Bit late posting this - but it’s been a very busy week!
We had the most special birthday to celebrate last week - for our own darling son Jacob! Needless to say he and all of his school friends had a blast!!

Hi everyone! Fingers crossed 🤞 for an improvement in this recent weather we’ve been having! X A huge thank you again to all our customers. I just wanted to reach out to everyone and just say a few reminders.
We don’t take a deposit or payment in advance at the moment but we do ask if payment can be made when we deliver and set up our castles. The only way I can give an example is like if you pop to Asda for some shopping - you pay there and then…not take the shopping home and pay later. It’s not great for us having to keep asking for payment and must be annoying for our customers having me keep asking for money 😩. We are sadly finding increasing situations where we deliver and set up everything, and customers say they will ‘pay later if that’s ok’. We are then finding payments aren’t being paid unless I basically beg for it 😞. But please in future we must insist on payments when we deliver and set up.
Also if you book with us and you need to cancel - please just let us know! Please don’t just ignore my messages especially when I can see you’ve read them. We could potentially get cancellations booked out to someone else but we do need to know.
We do try and help if we can…we’ve helped people at short notice a lot of times. If we can do it we will! But if we do try and organise something for you with only a days notice please stick to it. We hate disappointing people and we’ve had a recent situation where we were contacted to organise a castle at short notice and we did all we could to help. Then communication stopped! It’s very annoying 😩😩😩
Finally we do try and stay reasonable and only add a very small travel charge if you aren’t local to us - purely because we have to travel to you and back twice for delivery and collection, so please if possible don’t ask for discount or ‘name the price you’re willing to pay’, as we don’t make a great deal ourselves after travel expenses, regular cleaning and disinfecting of castles which takes hours and hours every single week. P**A testing, insurance etc. There is way more to castle hire than you see so we ask what we do to cover all of this and are still more reasonable than some other companies.
We want to try and avoid these situations so please just keep this in mind when making a booking x

Rain didn’t stop play for us today! Despite the crap weather - we had a lot of happy customers this weekend! It’s always guaranteed to be great when the event is indoors but for the brave lot at Ashcombe Village Hall today - nothing was going to stop them having their fundraising event! Kids loved it - even in the rain! X

We hired to some lovely people today - thank you Kay Geary ! I’ll post her lovely review below. Restored our faith after yesterdays bad experience x

Used Amy’s Castles at short notice for a kids party they were prompt with good communication and able to supply when needed. Drop off and pick up, was no fuss. Lovely people to deal with and the castle was well up to standard for the bargain £50 charge. Would recommend and use again in a heartbeat!

I think after such wonderful reviews from people on this page who have hired our castles up until now - I ought to leave a review of my own on what wonderful people you all are and how I wish we could hire to people like you all the time.
Sadly this weekend has been a real downer for us. I was contacted late in the week by a lady needing a castle at short notice as a large company had cancelled on her. We organised everything for her quickly and within an hour we had arranged to drop of 2 castles this weekend for her. She was thrilled! She then at the very last minute changed her mind and only wanted one castle…which was fine but a shame as we potentially missed out on a booking. But hey-ho! All was well and we dropped off the 1 castle as arranged to a beautiful huge house and garden for a party they were having. Of course as we always do we handed out the safety rules poster and the customers signed our health and safety form - stating they understood the rules including ‘no food and drink near the castles’.
On collection we found our castle in a poor state. Children say all over it eating pizza..but more importantly the whole castle was covered top to bottom in muck and cooking flour. When we asked the parents/customers we were told ‘yeah…they had a flour fight’ and ‘kids will be kids’! I pointed out that this was devastating for us and we specifically point out in the safety rules that no food should be near the castle. To which the customer laughed - and told me ‘yeah but it is only flour’.
I’m so upset someone can treat another person’s property with such disrespect, especially when we try and hire our castles as reasonably as possible to make it affordable for everyone. We do the castle hire to get by..because despite us both working really bloody hard in our jobs and raising a family - financially it’s not always easy.
The customer eventually (after me basically begging her) reluctantly paid us some money to get the castle cleaned, still all the while having a good laugh at me which made me feel ashamed and embarrassed. We are still out of pocket as we ourselves had to pay for another hire company to provide a similar castle to the family we had to let down so their children didn’t miss out today - at double the cost of what we charge.
I thought I’d share this story with you all to go alongside our sincerest thanks for all being wonderful customers x
