"Just got a lift back from Boomtown, I'm feeling a bit queasy. My missus has just had a go at me cos I didn't answer her calls all weekend, she's just put all me dirty washing on and told me to sit out here until it's finished, then I've got to hang it all up on this clothes hanging thing.
I told her I was just going out for a few beers on Friday as it was me birthday, but Kev had all my camping gear ready in his car and thought it best I just went without telling her. There's no way she'd have let me go if I'd asked up front. I got her a box of Maltesers from the garage on way back up but she threw them in the bin. Kids ain't talking to me either, they'd done me a special birthday tea. I think I'm gonna be in the doghouse for a few days now.
Worth it though as Boomtown was fu***ng demented mate."

Beat Circus Presets: CAPTAIN FLATCAP & THE KURNEL MC

Set sail on a cosmic musical voyage with Captain Flatcap, who fuses vintage sounds of Swing, Funk and World Music, with modern day Bass Heavy Dance Music. Beautifully accompanied by Live Flute playing from the Captain himself, his performances are an explosion of good vibes and energy, that get any crowd ready to party!

The Kurnel MC will be on mic duties and keeping the party vibes high and cranked throughout. This verbal assassin and incredibly talented MC has shared stages and preformed mic duties for with some absolute legends in the festival scene such as Stanton Warriors, WBBL, Father Funk, Askillz and Krafty Kuts.

Also playing sets on the night is Charlaquin / Faramix / Bearkat / Victor Vector

Jay Rees

DJ & Producer- Jay Rees has been on the scene since the late 90’s. Originally a drummer, it wasn’t long before Jay fell in love with electronic music and soon made the transition to turntables. 

Nowadays this versatile, multi-genre spanning DJ can be seen scratching and mixing his way through an array of his own edits and remixes as well as everything else in between. 

He is also the founder and creative director of an independent music production company, based in Dorset- 1eight Creative Audio  www.1eight.co.uk

ARLO

Arlo is a DJ and producer from the South West of the UK. At 19 years old, he is fairly new to the scene but has been playing out and producing for the last 5 years.

His sound is a new school approach to jungle, coupling too many snares with big subs, often accompanied by samples from grime, rap, reggae, and house. Arlo’s music has gained recognition from some of drum and bass's biggest names and a multiple of his productions have been played on BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 6 Music.

Arlo is looking to develop and grow as an artist through the rest of 2023 and we are truly blessed to have him come play at Beat Circus.
