Jazz Jam Wednesday 6th March 7.30 to 10 The Castle at Landkey nr Barnstaple. Please feel free to reach out if you want to play. Basic requirement: 2 tunes and a chord chart for bass and piano. We appreciate knowing ahead of time what you want to play.

New people keep turning up each month at the Bay The Bay Horse Inn, Totnes Sun 25th Feb we are back again. Come along and join us. Last month was very busy so if you want to play it might be an idea to book a place by naming 2 tunes you wanna play and emailing us the charts in advance. [email protected]

Buzzing for tonights Jazz jam. Played with Marcus Vergette over period of 30+ years. The most experienced bass player in the south west and always a delight to play with. Bringing out my more modern set. Originals, Carla Bley, Keith Jarrett, Steve Swallow, Bill Evans, Abdullah Ibrahim, Sam Rivers, Hugh Masekela. Plus whatever gets called up in the second half.

The Bay Horse Totnes the second Sunday of most months 8 till 10.30

John Walter heads up a house band which usually has Dominic Treacher on Bass.

John has been involved in Jazz since the 80’s . He notably ran a band which included Andy Sheppard on Sax and went on to perform with Andy in two Duo performances at The Bath Jazz Festival and Bloomsbury Saxophone festival.

Since then John spent 15 years running drum and percussion workshops.

John now plays anything from a Chet Baker songbook set to Free jazz and as part of the Devon Afrobeat Collective.
