Job Role: Assistant Zoo Keeper and General Maintenance

Reports To: Head Keeper and Partners

About You
We’re seeking a dynamic and energetic candidate with a hands-on, flexible approach. Ideal candidates will have practical experience (paid or unpaid) with animals, enjoy engaging with the public, and demonstrate excellent communication skills.

Main Responsibilities

Animal Care: Oversee daily care, husbandry, and welfare of a variety of animals.

Animal Experiences: Operate animal encounters and experiences for visitors.

Maintenance: Assist in general maintenance tasks, including building and enrichment projects.

Key Duties

Collaborate with the Head Keeper on welfare and husbandry.
Ensure cleanliness and upkeep of animal areas, fences, and shelters.

Communicate effectively with staff, visitors, and management, maintaining a friendly and positive demeanor.

Flexibly cover shifts to meet company needs, including weekends and holidays.

Follow all Health & Safety regulations and report any incidents.

Monitor and manage stock levels of feed and supplies.

Assist with seasonal and routine tasks, such as vaccinations, worming, and breeding.
