2025 couples! Hands up who’s planning a magical outdoor ceremony?

I’m confident that this year is going to be beautiful weather wise ☀️

2024 was not a great year for outdoor weddings as it just seemed to rain the whole Summer 🙈 We were very lucky for Terry and Liam’s September wedding though which as you can see was the perfect day!

In my mind it means that this year is going to be lovely all Summer, although knowing Mother Nature, always make sure you have a good plan B that you are super happy with so that when it comes to the day, whatever the weather decides to do, you’re still excited to see your ceremony space 🥰

I’ll always work with you to make sure whatever we’re planning is either transferable or that we have a really great plan B option - that way you can be confident that rain or shine, your ceremony space is going to be just beautiful!

A locally sourced rainbow of colour ❤️

Isn’t there something lovely about knowing that your wedding flowers have all been sourced within 10 miles of your wedding venue? As they were for this gorgeous day 🥰

I spent yesterday at summit learning all about different ways that we can make our businesses more sustainable so one of my aims for this year is to spend time calculating my current carbon footprint so that I can then take steps to reduce it…sourcing flowers locally is one thing that really helps.

I’ve realised for all the work I do towards making my business more sustainable, I don’t really talk about it that much as it’s not always the prettiest part so I’m going to make an effort to share more!

Is sustainability important to you when choosing your wedding suppliers?

Every year I plant more roses…it doesn’t make much sense as a wedding florist as I rarely use them in my designs - you might find the occasional one in your bridal bouquet - but the roses I grow don’t have long stem length and they don’t last long once cut.

I don’t really like cutting them because I get such joy seeing the blooms tumbling all over the plant and I can’t bear to cut future flowering buds to gain one cut flower. Plus the scent as you walk past them in the garden…especially on a balmy evening is incredible. Added to the noise of the bees buzzing around 🐝

They take up a lot of space in my garden which could be more productive but every year I buy a few more, justifying it to myself that I will cut them, knowing that I probably won’t…

But sometimes beauty and the joy that nature brings is enough…so this week I’ll be planting just a couple more roses ❤️ x

Hi I’m Caroline!

I can’t remember the last time I introduced myself so here’s a few random facts about me:

- My favourite month for flowers is May ☀️ and most of all I love colourful ones as they just bring me so much joy! 🌷

- I love dogs, especially my Labrador, Reuben 🐕

- I developed a sulphite allergy quite a few years ago which means I can’t drink alcohol any more 🍷

- I love tea and I am the person who will try and order a cup of tea at the pub/bar/anywhere else! 🫖 (if they have homemade cake even better!)

- I buy far too many plants without knowing where I’m going to plant them 🪴

- I try to live my life in the way I run my business (or vice versa!) - as in tune with nature as possible - it’s why I’m always trying to make improvements to make my business and my life more sustainable 🌎

- When I’m not flowering I like being in nature, being creative in other ways, having tea and cake with friends (see above 😂) and reading 📖

Tell me a random fact about you!

How much should I budget for my wedding flowers?

This is one of the most common questions I get asked by my couples when we meet for the first time. For most people planning their own wedding, their previous experience of buying flowers might be picking up a bunch in the supermarket, or buying the odd gift bouquet, so it’s completely reasonable that you wouldn’t have a clue what to budget.

A couple of years ago I wrote a blog post on exactly this to give you an idea of pricing. I’ve just been through and updated this and there’s a link in my profile to it so if you’re unsure where to start with your flower budget, do have a look and let me know if it’s helpful ☺️

Happy Tuesday!

I wanted to talk a bit more about flowers - not unusual for a wedding florist I know but my approach to them is a bit different…

For me floristry is absolutely about creating beautiful arrangements for your day but it’s also about connecting with and respecting nature and the seasons.

You won’t find me using varieties that have been flown half way across the globe - the majority of my flowers are British from local growers or my own cutting garden. If I do need to use the odd thing from further afield then I’m committed to only using European flowers.

This approach means that I might not always be able to include your favourite flower out of season, but it also means that you have the freshest, most beautiful flowers the season has to offer in your arrangements.

It’s important to me to stay true to my values in what I’m creating as well as how I’m living. So if you’re a couple who love beautiful flowers but are also mindful of the impact your wedding will have on the environment then I’d love to hear from you ❤️

It’s time! First Christmas wreath workshop this evening 🎄

My parents would always wait until the week before Christmas to decorate the house but I love to do it at the start of December to make the most of the tree - when do you like to decorate?

Congratulations to Tomoyo & Sam who celebrated their marriage yesterday in the Victorian glasshouse - hope you had a wonderful day.

They wanted their florals to feel very natural, wild and seasonal so Tomo’s bouquet reflects this, filled with lots of foliage, berries and textures alongside some seasonal British blooms.

This matched beautifully with the very natural installation I created for them in the glasshouse which I’ll share more of very soon 🍂
