And that’s a wrap for this Christmas. We will be back on Sat 28th Dec.

Once again I would like to thank our customers for supporting the shop for the 10th Christmas since I took on ownership. We wouldn’t be here without you. Equally I wouldn’t be able to survive without my amazing florists, every year you produce an astounding amount of work, and then all the drivers to help spread the Christmas cheer.

We have space left for a few local deliveries tomorrow, and lots of ready made bouquets and plants in the shop.
Please note we will only be open between 8-12. It’s been a long and busy week and all my staff are looking forward to actually getting to see their families rather than being at work. (Not that we don’t love our job, but sometimes people don’t realise the amount of hours we put in over and above normal shop hours).

Treated yourself or received a poinsettia plant and you’re not really sure on how to look after it? Here’s some tips to get the most out of your plant! 🪴

1. Like most of us, poinsettias don’t like fluctuating temperatures or to be near a draft. They prefer a steady room temperature between 18 and 25 degrees!

2. Get into the habit of inspecting your plants leaves for any that are turning yellow, falling off or curling up, this indicates the plant is usually too dry.

3. To keep the stunning red leaves vibrant and the green lovely and rich, you can mist your plant to raise the humidity levels.

4. There is no set number of days when to water your plant. It’s quite simple, pop your finger on the soil, if it’s bone dry then water it! Top tip is to water it from the bottom where the roots are, take your plant out of the decorative container so it’s in small brown plastic pot and stand it in an inch of water for an hour or so, before placing it back in its fancy pot, let it stand and drain for 20 minutes - this avoids the roots sitting in water and prevents them from rotting!

How to make the most out of your flowers! 🌷

1. Use the flower food to keep nutrients flowing up to the petals!!

2. Use a clean vase, eliminate any chance of bacteria in the vase by cleaning it first. We use a diluted bleach mixture but be careful not to get it on your clothes!

3. Upon receiving your lovely flowers and getting them home, trim the stems just before you put them into water as the ends dry up really quick and they need to be freshly cut to take up water!

4. Change the water! We recommend you change the water and clean the vase every 2-3 days! Before putting your flowers back into the fresh water, cut the stems at an angle to increase the water intake!

5. Enjoy!

A lovely lady found one of our lonely bouquets in Tring this morning and she kindly returned the glass jar to the shop after laying the flowers on a loved one’s grave. She kindly asked us to make another one so she can pay it forward for another lucky person to find! So with that being said there is a bonus lonely bouquet out in Tring.
