The highest standard of chamber music at Tunbridge Wells' most historic venue The series is a member of Sounds of the Wells.
With its oak galleries, exquisite plaster ceiling, and superb acoustics, the historic church of King Charles the Martyr provides an ideal setting for high quality chamber music. The series was recognised for its contribution to music in the area by an award from the Tunbridge Wells International Music Festival in 2011. It is run separately from the PCC of the Church of King Charles the Martyr.
Concert dates for your diary this Autumn! We welcome the City of London Sinfonia on Friday 20 September. There’s a piano recital on 21 September, followed by the Fidelio Trio on 10 October, and the Wigmore Hall duo Michael Collins and Michael McHale on 19 October. And our Christmas Baroque concert with Steven Devine will be a reprise of his fantastically inspiring interpretation of Handel's Messiah, on Saturday 14 December. Booking opens soon!

A fully choral solemn mass for Ascension will be celebrated at King Charles the Martyr Church, Tunbridge Wells on Thursday 9th May with incense and Palestrina's Missa Aeterne Christi Munera.

In 2016 Clare Hammond won the Royal Philharmonic Society’s prestigious Young Artist Award (UK classical music’s “Oscars ceremony”) and her international reputation has soared. She is described as a “pianist of extraordinary gifts“ (Gramophone) and “immense power“ (The Times).
We're very excited by the prospect of a fascinating selection of virtuoso works, including music by Clara Schumann, Ravel and Albéniz. Our Tunbridge Wells audience will be the first to hear this programme, which she is also taking to audiences across the UK and to Sweden and Switzerland.
The music in this wonderful programme speaks of the natural world in the language of romantic and folk traditions from a range of different cultures. And we find out about Hélène de Montgeroult, the aristocratic female composer described as "the missing link between Mozart and Chopin".

This is the school’s premier choir and membership is by audition only. The choir rehearses three times a week and enjoys taking part in events both in school and the wider community. Highlights recently have been ‘A night at the Proms’ with the Maidstone Salvation Army Band, and a performance of Faure’s Requiem at St Barnabas church and a tour of Amsterdam and The Hague in February 2023.

Come and celebrate Epiphany Sunday with us tomorrow as we welcome the Three Kings in the Manger. 8am BCP Holy Communion. 10am family service with lots of fun. A special Epiphany Mass with incense and beautiful music at 6.30pm when we will also commend all the prayers collected on our tree over the festive period. All are welcome.
