Music at King Charles The highest standard of chamber music at Tunbridge Wells' most historic venue The series is a member of Sounds of the Wells.

With its oak galleries, exquisite plaster ceiling, and superb acoustics, the historic church of King Charles the Martyr provides an ideal setting for high quality chamber music. The series was recognised for its contribution to music in the area by an award from the Tunbridge Wells International Music Festival in 2011. It is run separately from the PCC of the Church of King Charles the Martyr.

It’s a big year at King Charles the Martyr this year, as it’s the 400th anniversary of the ascension of King Charles I. We have lots planned but our first event is on the 25th January at 2.30pm. Join us for an illustrated lecture about John Wilson exploring his life and music.

Concert dates for your diary this Autumn! We welcome the City of London Sinfonia on Friday 20 September. There’s a piano recital on 21 September, followed by the Fidelio Trio on 10 October, and the Wigmore Hall duo Michael Collins and Michael McHale on 19 October. And our Christmas Baroque concert with Steven Devine will be a reprise of his fantastically inspiring interpretation of Handel's Messiah, on Saturday 14 December. Booking opens soon!
