I have finally got confirmation from Adamswell that they are expecting us for Tents in Kent 2024!! So here is an update of where we are....
We are definitely going ahead, so if you haven't yet paid in full, please send us your balance. Message me if you are not sure what you have paid - I have a little list!!
We do still have places - encourage your friends to join us for what will be a fabulous camp! And remamber we do have day tickets available. We have the whole campsite! At the moment we are fine for campervans - there is a hardstanding area if the weather has been too wet to use the field, but do check first please! A reminder that we DO NOT have any indoor accommodation at Adamswell
Sadly, Tracey is not able to provide bell tents etc this year, and we have not found an alternative supplier. If you do, please let me know so we can spread the word.
Adamswell Activities. We can offer Archery, Axe-throwing and the Climbing wall. We will be negotiating on times etc. You will be able to book and pay online, or seeif there are palces available at camp.
Programme - this will be finalised in the weeks before camp. We have a Form for you to offer workshops, talks, activities etc. If you look out for it, please let us know what you can offer. If you have already offered, please complete the Form so that everything is in the same place, to help with the planning process.

This is very hard to write....
We do not yet have enough bookings to be a viable camp - we have 35 bookings so far which is only half way to the minimum we need to break even. Our next, non-returnable, deposit of £1000 is due at the beginning of June, so we need another 20 bookings to ensure we can go ahead - I think the remaining will likely be booked following the payment.
If we do not get the 20 bookings in the next couple of weeks, I will need to cancel our camp!

Here's to a great 2024!!
We want to start the planning process in more detail now that we are in 2024, and would like to remind everyone to get your booking in as soon as possible. Let's make 2024 even better than last year! I know some of you won't know yet whether you can take leave for the weekend, and we can't keep places until you have registered and paid your deposit, but we can be very flexible as we have the whole site! If you do hope to come, but can't book yet, do let us know as that wll help with the planning of activities, workshops, talks etc!!
We would also remind you that you do not need to be a WI member (yet....!!) to come along for the weekend to find out 'what it is all about!'

Tents in Kent 2024
16th - 19th August 2024
Adamswell Scout Campsite, Broom Lane, Langton Green, Tunbridge Wells TN3 9JL

Tents in Kent is a relaxed camping weekend, with a varied programme of activities, workshops and speakers, but with plenty of time to catch up with friends, and meet new ones. While it is predominantly for WI members, we welcome friends who are not (yet) WI members, who can get a great impression of what WI can offer!

Weekend ticket is £65. Camping, in your own tent or pre-erected bell tent (at extra cost) ,and small campervans and caravans (limited spaces) welcome. There is NO indoor accommodation at Adamswell.

Booking is now open!! Please completer our online Registration Form to secure your place for 2024! Payment info is on the Form.
Please remember that we usually check and confirm bookings about once a week, so don't expect an instant response!

The survey will take approximately 4 minutes to complete. We do still have places available and are still taking bookings if you would like to come to Tents in Kent this year! We have booked the whole site so there is plenty of room for everyone (and no danger of meeting a Scout in the loos in the middle of the night!).
You may like the idea of joining in the fun, but definitely not the idea of camping! If you buy a ticket for the weekend you can join in all the activities and workshops, and spend time catching up with friends and making new ones, but go home to sleep in your own bed each night - assuming you live near enough or have friends who do.

This is a reminder to people who have booked and paid a deposit, but have not yet paid the balance. Please do so as soon as possible, so that a) you secure your place, and b) we are able to pay Adamswell for the weekend.

I know that most people saw my request for this in the Closed Group, but I think there are some who have not yet joined that group. Badger Watch 2023: The Raffle!!
I would like to introduce Bryony Badger who is the prize for this year's raffle.
She is all ready for her camping weekend at Tents in Kent 2023, as you can see in the photos. She has her t-shirt and camo dungarees, a rucksack for collecting goodies, her bedding, and, of course, her gin glass, and being a well brought up badger, a tablecloth. (The tent is not included in the raffle). Everything is packed in her suitcase, so she is ready to travel!
Tickets are £1 each, and you can buy as many as you want! PayPal is [email protected], and bank info is 60-60-08 56293453. Please make sure I can link your payment to you. If you want to buy your tickets before camp, I will send you your numbers. You will, of course, be able to buy tickets at camp!!
The draw will take place on Sunday, late afternoon or early evening, and will be made by Kathie of the West Kent Badger Group after her session. We will be sharing the proceeds with the West Kent Badger Group to support their conservation work.

We had not intended to have a theme, but as we started discussing what we wanted to include in the weekend, it seemed to be the underlying idea behind what we were saying. We will keep it as broad as possible, so you can be sure there will be something for you!

We are beginning to plan the programme for Tents in Kent 2022! As in 2019, we want to ensure we have a varied programme of workshops and activities.
So, let us know what you wold like! What activities did you enjoy most in 2019? Can you offer a workshop or talk - if so, what? I have asked Nick at Adamswell to let us know what Adamswell Activities may be possible - what would you like to have a go at?

We would like everyone to keep spreading the word! Though we were able to take the decision to go ahead, we do still have plenty of places available for Tents in Kent 2022. The more bookings we have the better the programme we can put together!
Remember, we are happy for you to bring non-WI friends - a great way to get them interested in what WI has to offer beyond Jam and Jerusalem! Though we have no problem with Jam, or Jerusalem, people often don't look beyond these!
