I’ve been very quiet on this account over the Summer. The holidays have gone so quickly, I can’t quite believe it’s nearly September!
I have been busy though, and I can wait to share what I have been doing!
❤️ In the Summer of 2022, I had the crazy idea that I wanted to launch my own makeup studio, in the back of an American school bus.
🚌 I don’t know where the idea came from, but it arrived fully formed name and all. Beauty School Dropouts was not only going to be a mobile Studio in an American school bus, It was also going to be a space that beauty professionals like me could come together, build their portfolio, their profile and make some money doing what they love.
❤️ It’s been a very long journey. I can’t tell you the hours and work, tears and passion I’ve poured into this, but we are nearly there. 🚌 Mavis as she is now known is ready to start taking bookings. She’s not quite finished. There’s some plumbing to put in, and a couch with pull out disco ball foot spas. But she’s now a perfect studio space. The lighting is gorgeous, there are tonnes of power sockets, there’s even a cherry tree.
🚌 I’m now able to offer private appointments, flexible chair rentals for other artists, and hire for events.
🚌 Most excitingly of all, Mavis is coming to visit Tunbridge Wells in a couple of weeks! I’ll be offering some discount appointments while she is here if you don’t mind me sharing pictures. I’ll do a post about times and prices soon.
🚌 I’ll also be hosting content creation days where artists can collaborate and create looks for their portfolio.
