Our Story

[email protected] Club Nights

People with disabilities from Just B U cic requested to run there own club night. DJ John White a parent of a gentleman at Just B U and Zoe the landlady of Cafe Stella in Leigh said they loved the idea and wanted to be part of this exciting one off night. The helpers at Just B.U didn’t realise but the people we support had already started to plan a second night which has led to this being established over many years the last Tuesday of the month. Other people who attended the night asked about volunteering and employment opportunities, here are some of the ideas they suggested and help with: Help our customers at the entrance on King street, Leigh, to experience being the Guest DJ, helping with keeping everyone safe in the club, glass collecting, having its own promotional materials and selling this from a club shop on the night.

After many years of bringing us some amazing themed nights Dj John White stepped aside to assist in the NHS. It was an emotional night for us all, we now we have DJ Chris Tomblin taking the lead with this exciting club night we thank him for stepping up to keep the night open for everyone. You can still see DJ John White from time to time when he visits us and the crowds go wild insisting he gets up and gives us one of his Ibiza special sets.

Cafe Stella is on King Street in Leigh, the bus station is just across the road from the Club. Were open from 19.30 until 22.30 the last Tuesday of the month unless posted otherwise on the Fusion page. Your first visit will be FREE entry to ensure its for you but we are sure you will want to return the month after.

Galaxy Studios

By working closely with DJ John White who used music as a therapy a new program started at Just B.U cic. A partnership was formed and a new venture was started that was led by John and his trusty student DJ’s.

In the back room of a terraced house John experimented with the people from Just B.U using lighting, dj equipment, art, Cd's, Vinyl records, and digital formats. There was some wild days in the house with everyone joining in, getting excited and planning.

Fusion out grew the house and moved to a new space nearer to the town of Leigh opening up as Galaxy Studio’s, John formed a radio station with the group and continued with all the previous good work that people enjoyed at the house. A friend of ours Craig from Mister Maker in Hindley made our Studio desk and kindly donated this which still brings great pleasure to our service today. John supported the group to interview people who worked alongside of him and people from the community. John supported employees of Just B.U including a nervous Justin to learn how to use the equipment and run the radio show in preparation for a new challenge to be responsible for the NHS ambulance service.

2017

We decided to move Fusion’s Galaxy Studio’s into the headquarters of Just B U cic in Atherton, we had a great space in mind and it would be accessible to more people at the service who had been keen for visits to the Leigh studio.

Josh from Just B.U took the lead introducing all the employee’s from Just B.U to try out the equipment and get involved. It was time to pay tribute to DJ John White for his amazing creation Fusion Entertainment. We contacted a graffiti artist that we had used before, people we support talked about ideas of how it might look and got involved in spraying the new, ‘John White Studio’. We had a grand opening inviting John with his family, he had a great surprise in finding a new studio with a WAW factor. John appears on the wall behind the Fusion desk on ‘the decks’ with JW on his clothing. There are other areas in the studio that are dedicated to John that you can see when you visit our service. The Cafe Stella Team joined us at the opening, they were also in for a surprise with a wall dedicated to there Night Club.

We now have another parent Gary who has got involved in the running of [email protected] he has been able to learn to use the equipment to the point of supporting people from Jbu to record there own shows. A new DJ, Just Jon ran our Xmas party he now calls by to help us run the studio bringing along exciting new equipment for people to try out.

What do we want to do next? Were working towards getting our radio license back which is challenge but one that will create great opportunities to the Fusion Crew.

We will continue to develop our Club Night in partnership with Cafe Stella and DJ Chris and now have new Polo shirts so that it’s easy to spot a helper on the night but that’s quite easy as there normally going wild on the dance floor!
