Come and enjoy an evening of live music fun on Saturday 6th July when Phil Kelsall MBE takes the Tywyn Wurlitzer Console.

Phil is the principal resident organist at the Blackpool Tower Ballroom. In addition to Blackpool and his annual UK tour, Phil performs frequent concerts in the the USA and has undertaken a highly successful tour of Australia and New Zealand.

We can expect a highly entertaining evening when Phil's skill will get the very best musical sounds out of the Tywyn Wurlitzer organ.

The next concert in the Tywyn Wurlitzer 2023 programme is on Saturday 25th November when Aaron Hawthorne provides a live sound track to "The Hunchback of Notre Dame."

Step into the mesmerising world of silent cinema as you are taken on a thrilling musical journey alongside the iconic 1923 film "The Hunchback of Notre Dame." Get ready to be transported to the enchanting streets of Paris as Aaron breathes new life into this cinematic gem.

Aaron has a degree in music from the University of Glasgow and is Principal Organist at St Bride’s Church. In 2019 Aaron won the international Young Theatre Organist of the Year, having won the UK title two years before.

The next concert in the Tywyn Wurlitzer 2023 programme
is on Saturday 28th October when Christian Cartwright
returns to entertain us once again with the marvellous live
sounds from the Wurlitzer pipe organ.

Christian is one of the younger generation of organists, and
is Resident Organist at Pipes In The Peaks. Christian has
spent many hours listening, watching and studying
recordings of the masters of the instrument past and
present. He likes to present a wide selection of music for
all tastes and ages and his many styles of interpretation are
his own arrangements.

The next concert in the Tywyn Wurlitzer 2023 programme is tonight Saturday 23rd September with Simon Gledhill at the organ console.
Simon is considered to be one of today's foremost theatre organists.
He showed a keen interest in music from an early age, winning the
Northern Young Theatre Organist of the Year competition in 1982.
His outstanding talent and potential was recognised by the Cinema
Organ Society. Later the American Theatre Organ Society (ATOS)
named him Organist of the Year and, in 2016, he was inducted into
the ATOS Hall of Fame. Simon has performed at all the major theatre organ venues in Britain, as well as touring in Europe, the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, and has made recordings on some of the world’s most famous theatre organs. Come and hear Simon's imaginative and beautiful interpretations of popular and light music, including music from films and musicals.

Stephen is resident organist at 'Pipes In The Peaks'. He is a popular performer throughout the UK, and we welcome him to the Tywyn Wurlitzer console for an evening of musical entertainment. Stephen started playing the organ at the age of 7 after being inspired at the Blackpool Tower Ballroom.

Our Christmas Wurlitzer concert will take place on Saturday 10th December at 7.30pm with David Lowe at the console. An evening of Christmas favourites for everyone.

Fancy watching a film where the soundtrack is composed live, in the same room as you? A hundred years after the release of Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror (1922), international, multi-award-winning organist, Aaron Hawthorne, will be terrifying audiences with his inimitable improvisational
accompaniment to this spine-chilling film. Featuring the 1937 Wurlitzer pipe organ installed in Neuadd Pendre, this spooky night out is the perfect Halloween (trick or) treat!

Film Synopsis:
German expressionist, F.W. Murnau directed several pictures historical to the world of cinema, but none quite to the effect of Nosferatu. Centred around the illusive Count Orlok, the thrilling narrative closely follows the accounts of Bram Stoker's famous 1897 novel Dracula, in which we were introduced to one of the most famous icons of Halloween.

Artist Info:
Aaron Hawthorne has quickly made a name for himself as one of the UK's favourite accompanists for silent film. He has been invited to perform his improvised accompaniments across venues in the UK, mainland Europe and the USA. This is Aaron’s second UK+ silent film tour, having toured with The Phantom of the Opera (1925) in 2021, which left intergenerational audiences wowed and craving more of this “not-on-Netflix” experience.
