The British Roselily season has well and truly started…all pollen free so no mess and with a beautiful scent.
We’ve plenty of each of the three varieties at the shop and we’re open tomorrow from 9.30.
1. Ludwina Roselily (Ludwina is an exclusive roselily colour, it is beauitfully unique with its cream hue petals)
2. Viola Pink (Viola is a spectacular Roselily, a real showstopper for any room. Each stem is full of beautiful round buds that open into a bright pink display. These are pollen free and double the petals)
3. Aisha White (Pure white..double the petals)

'Calico Kitten' (12cm pot)
Crassula marginalis Rubra 'Variegata' is a gorgeous looking plant with heart-shaped variegated leaves. The leaves are a combination of different shades of green; from pale green to yellow-green, and different shades of pinks and creams.
Its beautiful heart-shaped leaves make it quite unique.
Light: Crassula Marginalis prefers bright, indirect light. It can tolerate some direct sunlight, but too much can burn the leaves. Place the plant near a south- or west-facing window for optimal light exposure.
Water: Water the plant thoroughly when the top inch of soil is dry. Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings, as overwatering can lead to root rot. During the winter, when the plant is dormant, water less frequently.
Overall, Crassula Marginalis is a low-maintenance plant that is easy to care for and adds a unique and beautiful touch to any collection of succulents.

Herbs...some new variations have arrived into the shop today...and again we haven't gone for the normal ones you can pick up anywhere!
* Salad Burnet - fantastic come and come again salad herb, perfect as a starter dish or as a garnish.
* BBQ Rosemary - with a beautiful wood smoke flavour
* Mushroom Plant - highly unusual variety that contains a strong and delicious mushroom flavour.
* Thai Mint - this highly unusual variety of mint provides a delicious minty/caraway flavour and is absolutely loved by chefs. It's dark green leaves contrast against beautiful red stems and is perfect for use in Thai cooking.
* Vietnamese Coriander - this variety provides a hint of classic coriander flavour, combined with a delicious lemony and slightly spicy kick. Perfect when added to curries and rice dishes.
* Lime Mint - if ever a plant was PERFECT for adding to a drink. The Lime flavour within this foliage is seriously strong.
* Blackcurrant Sage - a variety that lends a gorgeous flavour to cocktails. The aroma is stunning and you will love Blackcurrant Sage in a drink.

Peter Rabbit has been growing lettuce, radish and broad beans in his garden and as rabbits do, has now eaten it all!
Although we did manage to rescue the broad beans and these have been given a new home.
Our new window display is incoming which will lead into our Summer seaside window!
The picture is when Peter Rabbit first planted up his garden...it was very much established up until today!

An outdoor plant for this week....beautiful as a cut flower too.
Achilleas, or yarrows, are traditional border perennials. They have long been valued for their feathery foliage and the beautiful, flat-topped flowers that bloom right through the summer months. But in recent years, they have become fashionably popular, used widely in perennial and wildlife planting schemes.
The ideal site for achilleas is free-draining soil in full sun to partial shade. However they will tolerate quite a wide range of soil types, as long as they don’t suffer from water-logging.
We have two colours available in the shop - yellow and pink.

‼️Event update ‼️
We need your help, due to increasing restrictions put in place by Gwynedd council and north wales police plus current members ill health and aging we are now in a very difficult position.
If we do not recruit more volunteers asap we will not be able to continue running our events for the rest of the season and going forward.
We have just two events left this year if you are available and would like to help with the setting up and down or even just marshalling for a few hours, please get in touch!

Wythnos yma…This week…
Ddaru The Outward Bound Trust UK ofyn i mi greu trefniadau ar gyfer cinio yn Yr Wharf yn Aberdyfi.
Roeddwn i eisiau sicrhau bod mwyafrif y blodau a ddefnyddiais yn Gymreig ac, fel bob amser, troais at Robbie yn Gwanas Fawr Holiday Cottages, ac unwaith eto cawsom flodau hyfryd ganddo.
Defnyddiwyd cyfuniad o flodau Cymreig a Phrydeinig yn nhrefniadau'r bwrdd.
Outward bound Centre Aberdovey asked me to create arrangements for a dinner at The Wharf in Aberdyfi.
I wanted to ensure that the majority of flowers I used were Welsh and, as always, I turned to Robbie at Gwanas Farm, and yet again he delivered beautiful flowers.
A combination of Welsh and British grown flowers were used in the table arrangements.

Rydym bellach yn falch o stocio amrywiaeth o gynhyrchion Nutscene yma yn Morawel LL36.
New gardening products have arrived in the shop!
We are now proudly stocking a range of Nutscene products here at Morawel LL36.
Nutscene is located a short drive away from the city of Dundee, in the rural county of Angus.
Still using the original machinery first used by them back in 1922, Nutscene still produces its own range of high quality garden twines and employs local people to do so.
Ethically sourced materials, from sustainable crops. Jute in particular, is an environmentally beneficial crop, Rain fed, fast growing, will grow on wastelands and improves the soil for future crops, it also reduces CO2.
We have a range of twines, gardening gifts and after gardening range.

Having lived and worked in Japan for 3 years, and still have great friends there today.
The culture of Japan is something else…hard to explain…but what I do know and understand is how important high quality, fresh and the origin of ingredients are to them. I can't rate this British company enough and what they do to promote Japanese products.
