PUMP DAY - Today has finally arrived. Noah has started his journey with a closed-loop pump system, also known as an artificial Pancreas. Huge thanks to and for making this possible and his entire diabetes team at The Royal Alexander Children's Hospital. Since being diagnosed almost 4 years ago in November 2020, Noah has had over 8,000 injections and over 10,000 finger pricks. This new technology will be absolutely life changing for him. He has never let any part of Type 1 Diabetes hold him back or stop him. But this will completely re-shape what his future will look like. He will still face daily challenges, Type 1 will always be relentless, it is still an incurable disease. However, this will give him back his childhood just a little, give him a little respite from being in charge all the time, allow him to feel the same as his friends again.
He is an absolute super star and brave beyond belief.
