Today is Armed Forces Day and if you're down in Eastbourne or you live in or around the area and want to show support for our armed forced then please pop down to Five ache field and say hello to many of the veterans young and old, who have put together this event.

Every year the celebrations get bigger and bigger.

The local Royal British Legion, Eastbourne and the Eastbourne & Districts Veterans CIC have worked tirelessly, to bring this event to Eastbourne every year. Next year is going to be bigger.

If you're looking for something to do today, please head down and show your support because if it wasn't for our Ventrans, and our current serving officers, we wouldn't be where we are today without them.

Good Morning from I Do HQ.

I just wanted to thank all our new followers for liking and following our pages, interacting with our posts and of course, sending in your enquiries of which have been turning into some lovely events and projects.

My name is Kayleigh and I am the owner of I Do Events based in Sussex, UK.

I Do Events is an events management company covering all aspects of events from staffing to planning and coordination to supplier searches and more. Not just here in Sussex but nationally and internationally.

What sets this company apart is that we love collaboration. Working alongside other planners, coordinators, businesses, hotels etc is what we do best. The word competition is not in our vocabulary, unless we're assisting in a sports or games type events then, you may see our little competivitity. We are also passionate about recognision and are privileged to currently be involved in the Uckfield Business Awards again this year.

No event is too small or too big. When I started this company, I always wanted to remember where I had come from and how hard I've worked to be where I am today and so, if I Do can help a family with arranging a birthday party for their child on a limited budget, we will. If a business needs assistance in coordinating an event they have planned, we will. If you're planning a wedding and need coordination or additional help with planning, we can help. If you're putting on a fundraising event, we'd be happy to assist. If you're event is on a regional, national or international scale, we'd love to be considered and work alongside you to create, orchestrate and execute your event to your expectations or higher.

It's a Bank Holiday here in the UK today and so I'm prepping for the week ahead this morning and watching Hawaii 5-0 😅.

I have around 50+ emails that will be scheduled to send for late tomorrow morning, for the Uckfield Business Awards, some ads to make on Canva ready to start the Christmas Campaign (Yes I know 🙄 - we started planning Xmas on 31st Dec 23 🎄🦌❄️🎅) and updating our Google page.

This afternoon, I'm out and about at events around Sussex. If you see me, say hi 👋🏼.

Hi All,

Firstly Apologies for being a little quiet this past month on socail media but we are back and we'll be starting to shout from the roof tops!!

Why do I say that? Well, I Do has some really exciting events coming up, where we are working alongside others, day to day with their events. Voluntary in our fundraising efforts for 2 local charities, and on something BIG and TOP SECRET for now!

All will slowly be revealed in the coming weeks and months, you may even find little hints in other posts about what we are up too 🤫

We have already started working on Christmas too ----- I know, tbh, we've been working on Christmas 2024 since 31st December 2023 but whose counting really lol.
We're also looking forward to collaberating with an amazingly talented Chef (posts to follow) for some amazing xmas parties.

Local Business awards are in full swing and so if you've been nominated for The Uckfield Business Awards then you may be hearing from me as early as tomorrow (Tuesday 7th May).

International Wedding collaberations are also in their final stages and I am so very excited to be bring these to you.

I Do Events will also be expanding in the coming months and so watch this space. There have been some silent ninjas working in the background and if it wasn't for them, I wouldn't be able to share all these exciting things coming up.

There's so much more that I'd like to shout about and let you know but for now.... it's TOP SECRET 😜🤫

Before you start searching:

• Set your budget: Knowing how much you can spend will help you narrow down your options quickly. If you are networking and would like to offer food, then maybe look at resterants where you can host for free. For most other events, (Weddings, Fairs/Markets, Larger scale events - Expos, Awards Evenings etc), having that budget is key.
• Estimate the number of attendees: This will determine the size of the venue you need. A good rule of thumb is to allow for 10-15 square feet per person.
• Define your event needs: Will you need a stage? A dance floor? Audio/visual equipment? Catering? Make a list of your must-have features.

Searching for venues:

• Online Directories: There are a number of online directories that list event venues, such as Cvent: https://www.cvent.com/venues/, Eventbrite: https://www.eventbrite.com/, or even Google: https://www.google.com/search?q=venues+in+my+local+area.
• Local Convention and Visitors Centers: These organisations can provide you with information on venues in your area.
• Similar events: Look at where similar events have been held in the past.

When considering a venue:

• Location: Consider how convenient the location is for your guests. Is there ample parking? Easy access to public transportation?
• Ambiance: Does the venue match the tone of your event?
• Capacity: Make sure the venue is large enough to accommodate your expected number of guests comfortably.
• Services offered: Does the venue provide catering, set-up/breakdown, security, or A/V equipment rentals? These specific services may not be relevant for your event but I hope you get the idea. It could be that they may have a preferred supplier list or have in house suppliers/packages.

Evening all, it's been a while I know.

We've finally got our phone line back up and running.... Yay, I hear you say but where we have had to get a new mobile, it comes with it's own issues.

Currently, we do not have access to our emails unless we are in the office and with it being half term, we are out of the office and forgot to take the laptop with us. With that, if you have emailed us since Friday last week then we apologise for the delay in our response.

Yesterday, Kayleigh attended the Children With Cancer Fund 25th Anniversary Family Ball at The East Sussex National.

It's such a pleasure to be supporting this amazing charity and to then be surprised with a recognition award too is so humbling. Such a lovely surprise, thank you.
