Louisa and her husband graze their cows on the old gallops here at Woolley Park, a new joint venture with the estate! These calves are outwintering with their mums on the gallops. As well as plenty of grass, they have access to meadow hay. As long as a cow has a full belly, they are more than able to keep themselves warm and live outside all winter 🐄

We made a start to Harvest today, it’s never the most satisfying dodging showers and changing plans on the first day but that’s farming 🤦🏻
And now 2 days of horrendous weather forecast, let’s hope the forecasters have got it spectacularly wrong 😂

We were delighted to host a group of Historic Houses members this week for a house and garden tour. The beautiful weather meant the back lawn was the perfect spot for a bit of coffee and cake whilst listening to stories of Woolley Park

We have a vacancy for a Rural Estate Administrator to join our small, close knit team on the Berkshire/Oxfordshire border.
Starting at the end of June, this person will be integral to the smooth running of the estate and help with the management of let properties and diversifications. Link to job advert in the comments.

Harvest 2023

We are looking for a Harvest help to join our small team in West Berkshire
Somebody 18yr + with a clean driving licence and preferably a Telehandler certificate, although training can be arranged, somebody enthusiastic and who has good attention to detail and is willing to work to a high standard.
We run modern NH and JCB machinery and a modern underfloor drying grainstore.
Tasks will be mainly grain carting, grainstore work - being confident with a Telehandler heaping up grain with a pusher is a plus, some cultivations and rolling and assisting with our Woodchip biomass business
Some general estate maintenance will be required in quieter times.

July start, flexible end date in September

We can offer a competitive rate of pay and a rewarding work environment in fantastic countryside

Yesterday once again the team took to the streets of London to show support for UK Farmers 🇬🇧 Tim and Matt drove the tractors all the way from Woolley to Westminster, leaving here at 4am and not arriving back until 9:30pm!!! 🚜 This inheritance tax that they plan to make farmers pay will affect everyone, not just the large estates or farmers like Clarkson. It will be the smaller farms, that have been in families for generations that struggle the most… meaning that many will have to sell. Farmers are already under so much pressure, they do not need this adding to it. Please show your support, remember where your milk, eggs, potatoes and anything else that is GROWN in the UK comes from! It’s doesn’t magically appear prepackaged on a shelf in the supermarket.
