Wow what a wonderful morning, thank you everyone who attended our wreath making workshop.
We shared spiced apple juice heated over the fire before Alice taught us all how to create the most amazing eco wreaths . We finished off by gathering around the fire to enjoy some vegetable soup.
I would really like to thank Alice for sharing her wisdom with us all, I had the most amazing morning thank you . 🌳🔥☕

What a wonderful last day of half term.
The children had plans and they executed them.
Where to start, lots of firsts this week , some children made spoons with support we used a crock knife to create the bowl, it took a lot of patience and perseverance and they look great.
Some even spend some time with Roz sewing to create cases for the makes .
The fire was laid, pancakes were created and flipped, thanks Gemma!!
One huge den was constructed using four trees and lots of inventive ideas.
Boats were made using natural resources and even some very creative ways to retrieve them.
Games were played and a Birthday was celebrated 🎂 .
Thanks for making my Wednesdays awesome.!!!

This is what Forest School is all about! letting the children be in charge of their own play and ideas. Today the children displayed great problem solving skills to create their own large mallet/sledgehammer to split wood. They showed wonderful team work to carefully saw dry wood and to swing over a make-believe river. They persevered to light fire and practiced fine motor skills to create origami planes and animals. They worked on their communication skills as they shared and demonstrated what they had learnt with others in the group. The children enjoyed writing secret messages to each other using the ‘Celtic tree Oghams’, practising writing with ink made from acorn galls. Games of Uno were enjoyed and it was lovely to see the players enjoy their wins but to also lose graciously and simply enjoy playing. We finished the day connecting back to nature by enjoying a ‘sit spot’ and sketching the signs of spring around us.
If you think your child would like to join this wonderful group please get it touch, booking are now open for next half term.

A windy start to the morning, so we all wet out for a walk and splash around the fields. The children love going for walks in nature They amaze me with their wonder , we tracked deer from their footprints and droppings before eventually spotting them across the open field .
We were gone for over 2hrs and no one complained. We stopped for hot chocolate before heading back for lunch and to play and create the afternoon away.

Yet another really busy day the Wednesday home ed group had. They found the flooded ditch was covered in thick ice so when about finding safe ways to break that ice, some threw logs and others used large sticks to smash and beat the side of the puddle to loosen it , They even fished out huge slaps of glass like ice ! what a wonderful way to keep warm.
A group set about making bird feeders and creating a wonderful bird hide. They made it super comfy inside with mats and blankets to sit while using their binoculars to see what birds we have up the forest.
We warmed up by the fire for a wonderful vegetable soup and hot chocolate, we are so lucky.
