Minehead Steampunk Festival

Chloe is back for our late night shopping & Christmas lights switch-on, here for our Minehead Victorian Christmas event. Friday 24th November from 4pm until 8pm.
Many Shops are staying open
Santa & crafts from 4.30pm at the station car park & Beach Hotel.
Queen Victoria & the Hobby Horse arrive there at 5.30pm.
There is then a candle-lit procession for all to join in (bring a torch) that goes up to Wellington Square, where the queen will be ceremoniously switching on the lights. Lots of entertainment & child friendly games up & down the high street & other events all evening.

Tate gallery St.Ives, Cornwall with Remo Alex Prior-Calver & his beautiful girlfriend Kiki. Standing in front of the display of graphic art that used to be a good source of income for artists before computers could produce it. Design of such of course is still down to human beings, but unfortunately bog standard templates seem to be boringly reproduced. Cheaper of course but true commercial artform has been lost, which used to influence trends in fashion/interiors & reflect pop culture.

Very nice festival coming up in Minehead

We are beyond proud and extremely excited to once again be organising the Minehead Bay Festival of art and culture on Minehead's seafront.

The day is shaping up to be an eclectic celebration of all things art and culture in Minehead, with some amazing local bands and musicians, local artists and delicious food and drink on offer!

We'd like to thank our incredible event team Claya Mayden Charlie Mcfarley Wob Williams for your hard work in pulling this event together, as well as our funders - HPC Impact Mitigation Fund and Coastal Communities Fund, as well as Bid for their funding support.

It is almost upon us - this weekend! The Minehead Victorian Steampunk Festival is kicking off on Friday evening, then with 2 days crammed with things to do. A market, steam vehicles, sideshows, street entertainment, Curious House of Stories in the park, live music across 6 venues day & evening. The mysterious hobby horses Saturday evening & traditional May Day Morris dancing etc. Don't forget to buy tickets for the variety show on Saturday night if you are coming! On Saturday & Sunday April 30th to May 1st'The Old Hospital' in the centre of Minehead's main 'Avenue' will be the setting for our Steampunk/Artisan market. We have about 30 stalls coming that are specially selected because of their wonderful merchandice. Steampunk stalls like 'Bagorags', 'Alterego' & 'Noctifera' who might be well known, as well as many that are new & exciting.

On Saturday & Sunday April 30th & May 1st The 'Curious House of Stories' join us for the first time, bringing child friendly stories, songs and games to 'Blenhiem Gardens'. Enjoy the entertainment on the 'Bandstand Stage' or take a seat inside the 'Curious' tent & enjoy a story or two. It's a great way to recharge within this serine park setting, before going back to the bustle of the main street.

On Saturday & Sunday, April 30th to May 1stthe steam bus will be chugging around the streets. There will also be a variety of other steam vehicles parked up around the town. Enjoy a trip through time! From the station the steam bus can carry you out to the harbour, to the top of town, back through the Avenue or out to the Butlins site. Hop on & hop off again as you like, a great way to see the festival in all its glory!

Saturday & Sunday April 30th to May 1st you will see 'Chloe Piano Cyclist' perform throughout the main 'Avenue', starting on Saturday at 'Wellington Square at 10am, then gradually working her way down towards the Steam Railway Station at the other end of 'The Avenue'.
On Sunday she will be performing in reverse order.

Saturday, 30th April, be sure to catch 'Dr Gray & his Orchestra of 1!'. He will be at 'Wellington Square' at 12 noon & 2pm. Then various places & later at Bar 21 at 3.30pm. Join in with his catchy choruses & listen carefully to the clever lyrics of this fabulous steampunk performer.
