In recognition of their absolutely sterling work, we’re delighted to donate the takings from the kitchen at yesterday’s show to Northern Ireland Exotic Sanctuary .
While the show is about promoting good welfare and husbandry, and celebrating local ethical breeders, it’s important to recognise that these guys and girls are at the coalface when things don’t quite go to plan, and are often left picking up the pieces.
Their educational area yesterday was absolutely fantastic and it was great to see so many people of all ages engaging and learning about our scaly companions.

Just a handful of the plants currently on a lorry on its way to the Ulster reptile show this Saturday. These are bought from the growers in the Netherlands. Direct prices will be amazing and starting from just £2 because you won't be paying any wholesalers. Same with our cork. I literally have half a van for you folks.

A very merry Christmas to every one of our followers, exhibitors and anyone that has helped over the past year.
I’m so very grateful for the support received by all of you, I will admit there’s been a few times I’ve been tempted to give up but the thought of seeing everyone in 2024 and proving the haters wrong makes it worth keeping going 🍻

Survey time!
Are you frightened of snakes?
Are rabbits dangerous?
Do spiders feel pain?

This survey looks at people's attitudes toward different types of pets and what affects their decision to keep them.

Let's just say, reptile keepers need to be heard!
Over to you, internet comrades.

A more positive post this evening 😊
A little competition open to everyone!
We have 3 beautiful trophies, Best Snake, Best Lizard and Best Other. As we can’t judge them at the show, we’ll do it here by the power of Facebook
Just £2 per entry, and send your pictures to the page by private message or WhatsApp before midnight on Sunday 2nd July. Payment via PayPal to PayPal.me/UlsterReptileShow.
I will then create three albums on one for each category and everyone can vote for their favourite. Winner will be the picture with the most reactions in each album at 11am on Saturday 8th July, when the winners at the show were due to be announced.
(Open to reptiles, amphibians and inverts please 😊)

Go to paypal.me/UlsterReptileShow and type in the amount. Since it’s PayPal, it's easy and secure. Don’t have a PayPal account? No worries.

It is with deepest regrets that I must inform you, due to a last minute changing of definitions by DAERA that I have no option but to postpone the Ulster Reptile Show.

As this is with my legal team, further comments cannot and will not be made at this time but I ask you all please not to pass comment or rumours, particularly online as this is likely to hamper the pending legal case.

What I can tell you though is their changes and proposals affect every single person in the Northern Irish reptile hobby, whether you breed one animal per year or hundreds, buy to breed or buy to keep as pets. I ask for your ongoing support in these next few weeks and months and I will keep everyone informed as I get information myself. We are going to have to work together if we are to save our hobby.

Thanks
Lindsey

It might be silent this evening, but in less than three weeks it’ll be buzzing with the first ever Ulster Reptile Show!
I’ve been working tirelessly with DAERA to get the correct licensing in place to enable my fantastic exhibitors to bring their selections of snakes, lizards, invertebrates and more to the excited public.
Once again, incorrect and malicious rumours are being spread. As hobbyists, exhibitors do not need to have their own pet shop licences to be at the show.
If the person behind this is as concerned as they seem, they are free to contact me on 07311 147162 to discuss their issue.
To everyone else, I’m looking forward to seeing you all on Saturday 8th July. Between now and then I’ll have some exciting teasers and important information for you all.

Thanks
Lindsey
