Many thanks 🙏 to all those that came to help take down the village lights 🚥 yesterday - the village definately looked a lot darker last night 🌃.

Many thanks to The Plume Of Feathers once again for generously providing breakfast 🥓

If you had a box of lights💡this year, please keep hold of them until next Saturday, 13th January, members of the lights committee will be coming round to collect them.

If you had a village tree 🎄this year, please remember that Cornwall Council no longer collect trees unless you subscribe to a garden waste service.

🚥🚥 LIGHTS DOWN WEEKEND🚥🚥

Where has the time gone?! Apologies for the short notice……If you are available and willing to help, the Committee will be taking the lights down on Saturday 6th January.

Volunteers are invited to meet us for a generously donated and delicious breakfast at The Plume Of Feathers at 9am.

🎆HAPPY NEW YEAR🎇

Tonight’s fireworks will be blasting off from the breakwater at 6pm tonight (1st January). The best view is from The Lugger.

🍷 Hot drinks will be available to keep you warm from 5:30pm at the Fisherman Shelter. 100% of the proceeds from hot drinks sold on the Lugger go towards next years fireworks.

This is a community funded event so please remember to bring some cash. Donation buckets 🪣 will be with Marshall’s in high vis jackets 🦺. We also have card machines - please look out for someone in Pink High Vis.

🚗 There are 3 large car parks in the village - New Road, the Memorial Hall and Gerrans - please refrain from trying to park on the Lugger or in the Square as there will not be any parking available and you will cause traffic jams

Please note that sparklers are not permitted at this event.

🎆🎇ONE DAY TO GO 🎇🎆

The Portscatho New Years Day Fireworks 2024 will be blasting off from 6pm on the 1st January.

🍷Refreshments☕️🍺are available from the Fishermans Shelter from 5:30pm.

This is a community funded event 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 and your support helps us to continue running the display 🎆 and village lights 🚥 year after year.

100% of the proceeds made from the refreshments sold on the Lugger, the collection buckets🪣, bottles on the bars🍾, card donations 💳 and GoFundMe page 💻 go towards the Christmas Lights and Fireworks Fund. Please bring cash 💷 where possible, card machines will also be available.

We are looking for some keen volunteers to help Marshall at the Portscatho New Years Day Fireworks 2024

Volunteers will be kitted out in a sexy high vis jacket 🦺, help keep watchers safe 👀and get to enjoy the fireworks too 🎇.

What a fantastic weekend of events it was!!

What an incredible turn out for the Christmas Tree Carol Service 🎄🎶! We hope you love 😍 our new tree lights as much as we do?!

The carol service raised a whopping £700 that will go towards the lights and fireworks fund - thank you everyone for your support

Many thanks to everyone that helped make the event so special. Thank you to Jill Edwards for the words 📖, St. Anthony's Noyse for the performance and accompaniment for the carols 🎶, The Plume Of Feathers for the mulled cider and mince pies 🥧, Scatho’s for letting us use the shop, The Hidden Hut for the cups and sausage rolls 🌭, The Harbour Club, Portscatho for the chairs 🪑 for the band, Annie Nicholls for our new logo and the stickers and Father Christmas for handing out presents to the children. Many thanks also to Stephanie Yates for putting the event together and her team for helping to serve the refreshments

A huge thanks again to everyone who showed up today. You guys rock!!! To celebrate the christmas lights turning on tonight. Portscatho’s own Cornish Rustic Acoustic Players, ‘The Nuggy Ends’, will be singing in the The Plume Of Feathers tonight from 8pm.

So come on down and check out the marvellous illuminations around the village, drop into the lovely Plume and enjoy the amazing tones of the now world famous Nuggy Ends. Soon to be featured on Strictly, and Ant n Decs Saturday night take away!!

The lists for village Shapes ⭐️, Christmas Trees 🎄and Lights 🚥 are available in Portscatho Stores, The Plume Of Feathers, Scatho’s and The Harbour Club, Portscatho.

REMINDER: Cornwall Council will not be collecting waste Christmas Trees unless you already pay for a garden waste subscription. You will be able to take waste trees to the recycling centres.

We’ve just finished counting all of your very generous donations!

The total raised was just over £3,200

This money will go towards the cost of running next years display.

We would like to also thank, the boys that helped run the display, the team that provided the refreshments, the marshals, The Hidden Hut, The Plume Of Feathers, The Memorial Hall, Portscatho Stores, The Harbour Club, Portscatho and all the other helpers for their continued support.
