emc3 has been awarded a King's Award for Enterprise in International Trade! 👑
The Kings Award (previously known as The Queen's Award) is the highest honour for UK businesses and this incredible award recognises our excellence in International Trade, making us one of 252 organisations nationally recognised with the prestigious King’s Award for Enterprise.
To say we’re ecstatic would be an understatement!
"Receiving the King's Award for Enterprise in International Trade is a moment of immense pride and gratitude for all of us at emc3. This recognition is a testament to our team's unwavering dedication to creating transformative global events. For over two decades, we have channelled our passion and expertise into crafting impactful experiences for our clients, and this award is not just a recognition of our past achievements but a catalyst for our future endeavours as we continue to redefine what’s possible in the event industry.” —Alistair Graham, CEO and Co-founder.
Over the past 25 years, we’ve had an incredible journey. Starting as a high-end concierge service, and evolving into a global leader in event production.

Last month we sponsored the Sustainability Theatre at International Confex—and absolutely loved having the opportunity to share insights and get to know you and your sustainability missions in more detail.
Helping curate the authentic, data-driven content was a particular highlight, and our wonderful speakers delivered some amazing sessions over the course of two days. We'll have the on-demand content for you soon, but until then, here are some of the key takeaways!
→ Sometimes what we think might be the most sustainable option is not always the most eco-friendly, so it pays to do your research and adapt where necessary rather than following the crowd or basing your offering on assumptions.
→ Lots of companies make the mistake of setting big targets without understanding where they are starting or even how to achieve those goals. It’s OK to take small, consistent steps rather than trying to hit a mammoth milestone straight away.
→ People may forget what you said, or what you did, but they will never forget how you made them feel. The secret to creating a narrative for your sustainability initiatives that will actually engage your audience, is to get them involved and make them feel connected to something.
What's the most impactful lesson you've learned about sustainability recently? Let us know in the comments! 👇

This #InternationalWomensDay, the theme is "Inspire Inclusion." Beyond celebrating achievements, it's a call to action for companies to create workplaces where everyone feels valued and empowered—because whilst improvements have been made, there’s still a lot of work to be done!
Let's dive into some of the ways companies can do this and work towards that shared goal—because fostering a truly inclusive environment starts with your people, and building strong policies and practices to protect and listen to them.
→ Mentorship programs, pairing new hires with experienced mentors to foster belonging and support.
→ Inclusive job descriptions that avoid gendered language and focus on skills and qualifications.
→ Flexible working arrangements, such as remote/hybrid work, and flexible work hours to accommodate different needs and caregiving responsibilities.
→ Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) to help people connect, share experiences, and advocate for inclusion initiatives.
→ Standardised promotion criteria to remove any bias and ensure progression is based on merit and qualifications.
→ Enhanced parental leave for all genders, including adoption and fostering leave.
→ A culture which prioritises open communication and creates safe spaces for employees to voice concerns and offer feedback.
→ Regular pay equity audits to identify and address any gender or race-based pay gaps.
→ Inclusive holiday celebrations that acknowledge diverse cultural and religious holidays.
→ DEI and unconscious bias training for both employees and leadership teams.
→ Regular policy reviews to ensure they remain effective in creating an inclusive workplace.
There are so many more that can be included, and by implementing practices with a genuine focus on inclusion, we can create workplaces where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to contribute their best work.
What's your favourite company policy?

Happy New Year!
2023 was not just goals but milestones reached and then surpassed.
Following the pandemic's aftermath, events have returned more robust and better than ever in 2023, with projections showing that they will exceed $2.2 billion by 2028. As for us, we have:
→ Delivered 67 events collaborating with the world's leading brands—including Google, Meta, Hewlett Packard, and Asana.
→ Won a total of 9 awards. We were lucky enough to win TWO Global Agency of the Year awards; however, the biggest highlight was achieving the Company Culture Leadership award for Alistair, who says, "Company cultures don't just happen by chance; we nurture and ensure it's constantly evolving. We treat every member of the team with trust and respect and view every person as an individual", and the C&IT: Best places to work 2023 award.
→ Became a certified B corporation.
→ Organised our annual internal event, Connect, where we united our global team in London for workshops, training, and presentations before heading to the wilderness reserve for some well-deserved rest!
→ Launched the Reimagine Community and brought seven new events to Boston, New York, San Francisco, and Las Vegas and delivered our largest Reimagine event to date in London (for a full rundown of the sessions, visit https://hubs.li/Q02dRvDf0)
→ Expanded our team and hired 31 people.
→ Planted 7,582 trees.
And those are just a few examples!
It's safe to say that 2023 has been an eventful year, and we can't wait to kick things off in 2024 and continue making #everymomentcount

Our Reimagine events for 2023 may be over but fear not... In the words of Arnold Schwarzenegger, we’ll be back 😎
The Reimagine Community is a place for events and marketing professionals to meet like-minded people to connect with, learn from and explore new ideas that they can action in their own organisations—and in 2024, we'll be back with more events than ever.
We designed Reimagine as a place where people could unite to reimagine what’s possible in events and marketing. Serving everyone—from entry-level to CEO, the purpose is to unite those passionate about their industries in a place that’s safe to be vulnerable, ask questions and learn together. Because there’s as much to be learned from the fresh-faced graduate as there is to be learned from the well-seasoned C-suite—and we want to build a place that can facilitate those conversations in a way that entertains, educates and inspires action.
2024 will see us back in London, in addition to New York, Boston and potentially even Las Vegas... So if you're intrigued, register your interest at https://hubs.li/Q02dmKFc0 to be the first to hear of our next event!

As the world hurtles towards the new year, businesses are meticulously crafting their roadmap for upcoming events.
Are you prepared for 2024? 👀
What if we told you that we could help with that?
Over the past decade or so of collaborating with global juggernauts such as LinkedIn, Google, Rapid7 and HP—we’ve learnt a thing or two about delivering events with unparalleled success and if you want to know the secret to success… It’s this:
Focus on what makes YOUR business unique, because if you focus on the competition too much, you’ll miss out on those little moments of magic that made your audience choose you.
Step one of that is aligning your team.
Intrigued? Christina Luconi, Chief People Officer at Rapid7, shares why a workshop is a game-changer in this testimonial.
And because we stand by the importance of unifying your team and your mission, we’re currently offering a complimentary workshop to our partners, to help create those event marketing strategies that yield unmistakable ROI.

The nature of bringing large groups of people together in one place can understandably have detrimental effects on the environment. It's part of the reason why the events industry is known for generating a lot of waste—from food and packaging and print to excessive energy consumption.
Whether you're planning a small gathering or a large-scale conference, it's essential to consider the impact that your event will have—both on attendees AND the planet. Because with small consistent changes, we can reduce the amount of waste created and work together to make the industry more sustainable.

Over the years we've been called a few things, e-m-c, em-c, emc-squared—and whilst those things are *close*, they're not quite right!
Allow us to reintroduce ourselves 🎤
The name's emc3 (pronounced e-m-c-3), and if you're curious about how we came up with our name, it's because when it comes to planning your events: every moment counts!
"Every moment counts" is an ethos we have bought to every aspect of our events since we started doing business all those decades ago... It's an ethos that's powered by the content, creative and strategic (that's the 3 part of our name!) elements that fuel our events —because as a full-service agency that specialises in strategic experience design, our goal is to intentionally create experiences that leave a profound and lasting impact on our partners and event attendees.
It's what's earned us the privilege of being able to call companies such as Google, LinkedIn, Gong, Rapid7 and so many more as clients!

Hear why Sue Fontes, Senior Director of Experiential Marketing at Rapid7 says she WOULDN’T recommend emc3 to someone in her network!
Sue recently took the time to discuss how emc3 has been a pivotal part of their success internally and externally throughout our 5+ year relationship.
"The top reasons I love working for emc3: they have such creativity and they think out of the box, when things go wrong they stand by their word and take care of us as clients. I just enjoy working with them."
Well, right back at you, Sue! We absolutely adore working with the team at Rapid7 and don't take these kind words for granted!

It's always great for us to hear from clients, and these kind words came from Miranda Harper, Rapid7's VP of Global Communications, who took the time to so graciously share some fantastic feedback on our relationship!
Getting to work with our partners on bringing their concepts to life is something we are incredibly proud of, and we are so happy to be a part of Rapid7's success story and continue this relationship.
