During the referendum for Scottish independence in 2014, I performed (free) on many occasions, sometimes with my pal Rod on pipes and at other times, solo jobs, indoors and out.
Herald Events is pro-Scottish independence and the mainstream media (especially the BBC), The Tory Party, The Labour Party, The Liberal Democrats, the disgusting and crooked royal family, and all cap-doffing peasants and self-interested parasites are, in my opinion, worthless.
If you disagree with any of this, go away, far away and stay away.

Recording began today on our new album, Myths and Monsters, a collection of stories about terrible creatures in Gaelic folklore.
Barry and I have worked on many projects these past twenty years and it has always been good.
He is recording it and will produce it, LOTS of work for him.
This will be available as a download and I shall trumpet it loud on here and elsewhere.

Very few bookings are in the diary in what is usually our busiest time.

I played King Robert the Bruce on film and in live shows and next week King Charles will be crowned in London.
Bruce was a great King and he strengthened Scotland but the Windsors are a disgusting bunch of parasites, aided by the BBC, the Tory party and titled landowners and assorted unionist reprobates. Had Charles not outlived his mother, his sleazy pl***oy of a brother, Andrew would have been king instead.
THAT is how it works - nobody elected, no rules applied and carte blanche to do whatever they want.
And obscene wealth at their disposal, much of it from the backs of slaves.
There is nothing 'great' about Britain.
Anyone waving a little flag and toasting this vile institution is a cap-doffing peasant, complicit in their centuries of crimes.
I sincerely hope that people ignore their hideous spectacle.
I am a citizen, not a subject and hope you are too.

The nicest theme we have is our hand-fasting service, a non-religious ceremony set in the 1700s and it has been part of our catalogue for twenty six years.

Robert the Bruce was crowned on this day, March 25th 1306 at Scone Abbey.
Isobel, Countess of Buchan placed the crown on Bruce's head and Bishop Lamberton of St. Andrews officiated.

Ten years ago I informed agencies that we would no longer supply Russian clients due to every one of our experiences with them (and there were many) being truly awful occasions.
Granted, these were very wealthy Russians and not ordinary people but every one of them, including their children were vile and worthless creatures.
More recently, a Russian-owned whisky distillery in Scotland, its people linked to arms dealing and the Kremlin got a firm 'no thanks' to any events work there.
I DID post on here about not providing Orcs with events but I don't think people understood what I was actually saying.
Russians are effectively Orcs and we will never do anything for even one of them.

Our Jacobite murder-mystery dinner, A Toast To the Prince is set in 1745 and it can be staged anywhere in Scotland.
We cater for parties from twelve to about eighty and the show takes place during a three-course meal and a little bit beyond that.
It can include a bagpiper too and it might be a family get-together, the night before a wedding or a corporate gathering.
It suits all ages and nationalities and everyone is welcome of course.

We have a treasure hunt in July for American visitors at a castle by Loch Ness and these are just some of the pieces that they will be able to take home.
We COULD just fill a jar with chocolate coins but that is not the Herald Events way.

The Stone of Destiny, Lia Fail, is Scotland's ancient crowning stone but whatever the English stole from Scone Abbey in the 1300s is nothing of the kind.
King Charles will be crowned atop an irrelevant lump of sandstone.
How fitting.

Ten years ago I informed all the agencies that booked us that we would no longer perform for audiences of Orcs.
There had been too many unsatisfactory experiences with them - hard, humourless nasty people (and I include Orc children in that) and that it was time to stick with predominantly Americans.
It was an easy decision and the events of the last year have vindicated that.
Orcs?
Absolutely not.

Indoors or out, with lots of guests or just two people, it is a lovely interactive ceremony and we can even provide costumes.
A bagpiper can lead you to the place of service and there can be music and merriment afterwards.
