//SOMETHING BLUE (and yellow) // for Blue Monday. Such a pretty combination. Subtle blues in the veil, rug, table runner, candles and glasses really stand out against the greenery and pop of yellow in the bouquet.

//RUNNERS// I love creating hand-dyed gauze table runners and the colour and texture they add to a table. You don't always have to follow tradition and use them along the length of the table. In this case, it was placed centrally along the width of the table instead. I loved the autumn colours of this shoot with its warm reds, oranges and yellows, including this beautiful dahlia.

//BACKDROPS// My handcrafted 7ft macramé hexagon makes a perfect ceremony or top table backdrop. The frame is sustainable red cedar made locally by Steve and the macramé inserts were made by me. Looks great with or without flowers added too.

//VINTAGE BOTTLES// I love this image by of miscanthus gently blowing in the breeze from a beach shoot last year. I have a large collection of vintage glass bottles of all shapes, sizes and colour which are perfect for single stems and foliage to add the perfect finishing touch to tablescapes.

//MIX AND MATCH// I absolutely love creating settings on long tables where you can mix and match a range of items, adding height and colour along the way. Here, I used terrariums, brass candlesticks in different heights, vintage glass bottles and brightly coloured tealights, along with neutral cotton napkins. No runner was needed as the foliage alone looked gorgeous against the bare wood tables.

// CANDLESTICKS // One of my favourites - vintage brass candlesticks paired with pretty coloured vases, simple flowers and foliage, tealight holders plus mix and match pink and rose gold candles. All sat on one of my hand-dyed gauze runners.

Christmas was not quite as we intended this year, thanks to Covid restrictions. Instead of a white Christmas in Canada with my Mum and Stepdad (who we haven't see since July 2019) we're spending a quiet day at home.
Thinking of everyone today who can't be with loved ones for whatever reason as well as those who are making the most of being able to spend time together after another difficult year.

•December• Arwen took what few roses remained in the garden (along with half our pergola which we were hoping would survive until next summer) but we’re left with lots of greenery and, fittingly for the month, holly and mistletoe.
I really benefitted from a low-tech, no social media November to reset and recharge but I’m looking forward to sharing a couple of exciting publications that happened last month.
