We had a really lovely weekend in London - cold and wet maybe but we had great fun!!
We took in a show, had lovely food and drink then visited this beautiful chapel in preparation for an upcoming wedding ceremony later this year.

Well, my brother in law Jim gave a great speech at our own wedding all those years ago - we’ve never forgotten it!

I visited the Norfolk Bluebell Wood and Burial Ground yesterday evening.
It’s a stunning space! Beautiful, well kept grounds, a 300 year old bluebell wood, a wonderful eco resting place surrounded by trees and the sound of birdsong.

June 8th was the day they said ‘I do, again’!
Julie and Doug had a beautiful, personal ceremony surrounded by their loving friends and family exactly 50 years to the day from when they first met!
After all of life’s ups and downs they both knew that being together was what mattered the most and, this time, they wanted to celebrate their special day in style. They recommitted to one another knowing, for sure, that this would be for the rest of their lives.
Julie got to wear ‘the dress’ - and I know you’ll all agree that she looked elegant, serene, utterly fabulous and absolutely beautiful! All those years ago, Doug knew within weeks of meeting her that Julie was the one, and they married just a few months later. This time around, his proposal was magical and their ceremony unforgettable. Both of them exuded such incredible happiness on their special day.
I was so very honoured to be asked to officiate their ceremony and I loved getting to meet them and tell their story. It was a joyful pleasure.
I want to wish them both all my love and best wishes for their family-filled, joyful future together ❤️❤️

I can’t believe the fantastic weekend we had in Amsterdam and The Hague!
3am start, sun, rain, the beach, crazy darts, pigeons doing target practice, great food and too much wine.

My day as a celebrant!
No two days are ever the same. I have 2 funerals to officiate for families over the next few days and a family visit too to begin preparing the ceremony for their loved one.
I have 3 wedding ceremonies this coming month (one as a guest) and I’m also in the middle of finalising more wedding ceremonies for this summer and beyond! I need to make sure I’ve got my outfits sorted (and, after our holiday, see if I can fit into them!!)
When the sun comes out I’ll be writing in the garden - but, for the minute, the weeding isn’t being done, I’m behind with the housework, and I couldn’t be happier!

I had a lovely wander around the grounds of @branchesparkengland recently mulling over in my mind the wedding that will be taking place there next year for the lovely Maddie and Dan.
It’s stunning!! A beautiful barn for your ceremony, or space in the open if you prefer! The grounds seem to stretch out forever for your guests to soak up the peace and tranquility around them before you celebrate into the night. There’s a gorgeous Farmhouse too - just what you need onsite when your wedding party is gathering together to get ready for the big day. It’s wonderful!!

Where do you keep your memories?
For me, I don’t have photos of lost loved ones on display - probably because I don’t like to be reminded constantly of their loss. I know they’ve gone - and I have lots of photos - but I enjoy looking at them at different times when I’m happy to look through them.
These pictures, however, are constant reminders and they’re all over the house. My dad’s paintings and drawings - he was a talented artist - and my mum’s beautiful gift of a stitched family tree. A mother’s tree highlighting the names lost to history.
I love them and they remind me of their legacy too. I’m not a painter but I love crafting and making things - they’ve passed on that love of creating! It’s maybe why I also love creating stories for the couples and families I work with.
