Important information about Shropshire Tasty Trail 🥾

Here at Shropshire Festivals, we're busy hosting community events alongside our usual large festivals, so we've been unable to host Tasty Trail so far this year.

However, we hope to bring you a Tasty Trail later in the year, but in the meantime, sign up for our mailing list and you'll be the first to know when we launch our next event.

Lover of a good local pint? Award-winning writer, Laura Hadland, The Shropshire GOAT will be hosting two epic Beer Tasting sessions on the Friday Night of Shropshire Oktoberfest 🍻

🍺 FRIDAY NIGHT BEER TASTING 🍺

Do you fancy yourself a beer connoisseur, or just a lover of an ace pint? Well, now is your chance to delve deeper into some top local beers... On Friday 6th October, we'll be joined by award-winning beer writer, Laura Hadland to host two epic sessions for all you beer lovers!

During your 45-minute session, Laura will be taking you through her top picks from Shropshire Oktoberfest, and some might say, the Best of the Fest...

So, pull up a pew, mingle with fellow beer aficionados, and enjoy learning a thing or two about some top local beers...

Shropshire Tasty Trail menu 🍽️

🍺 STARTER
Oteley ham hock terrine with piccalilli and crusty bread
Vegan Greek salad with homemade houmous
Gluten-free bread will be available
Hare Moon Cider from St. Martins

🍷 MAIN
Braised shin of Oteley beef with ginger and five spice served with chive mash
Vegan white bean casserole
Both items are gluten-free
Wine from Colemere Vineyard

🍺 DESSERT
Sticky toffee pudding with cream
Vegan and gluten-free sticky toffee pudding
Hobsons Brewery Champion Mild

There will be non-alcoholic options available at each stop, plus water refilling stations. If you have let us know your dietary requirements, we will have options available at each course. Please email us on [email protected] to confirm any dietary requirements.

Important information 📣

This Sunday, we're so excited to be welcoming you to Oteley Estate, Ellesmere for Shropshire Tasty Trail!

📝 REGISTRATION
Please arrive at Oteley (SY12 0PB) at least 15 minutes before your start time so we can get you signed in and given your instructions.

🚶 THE ROUTE
This is an 8-mile walk through the Ellesmere countryside and alongside the Meres. There will be 3 stop-offs for a starter, main, and dessert made with produce from the local area.

🍴FOOD & DRINK
If you have any specific dietary requirements and have let us know in advance, either at the time of booking or by email, there will be an alternative available at each stop.

If you have not let us know of your dietary requirements, please drop us an email on [email protected] with your name, and order number before Wednesday, April 19th.

🅿️ PARKING
Parking will be on grass, free of charge, at Oteley Estate. On arrival, you will be directed to a space by a member of our team.

🚾 TOILETS
There will be toilets available at Oteley Estate and at each of the stops for your starter, main, and dessert.

🥤 WATER
Each stop will have water top-up points so you can fill up your bottles.

🐶 DOGS
Your four-legged friends are more than welcome to come along on Tasty Trail - but they must be kept on a lead at all times, and you must pick up after them.

There will be a few styles along the route that you will need to carry your dog over, so please bare this in mind when choosing to bring them along.

🥾 CLOTHING
Please were appropriate clothing and footwear for a country walk. You will be walking through fields and across muddy walkways, so we recommend waterproof walking boots.

Remember your raincoat, sunscreen, or a hat - depending on the weather forecast.

Bring a rucksack or something to carry your glass/es and snacks in.

📱 MOBILE PHONE
Download the what3words app on your phone, and ensure it is fully charged, just in case you get lost, then we can locate you easily!

📸 PHOTOGRAPHY & VIDEOGRAPHY
We will have a photographer & videographer joining us on the day, by purchasing a ticket you are consenting to your image potentially being used for further marketing. Please let us know if you would prefer otherwise.

🚨 GOVERNMENT ALERT
At 3pm on Sunday, the Government will be sending an Emergency Alert to every mobile phone in the UK. The alert will sound like a large siren and a message will be displayed on your screen. As you may potentially be walking the route, please do not be alarmed by this!
