Ten years of tour guiding, over and out. 

Its been a long, long time since my good friend needed a spare set of hands. From those early days of literally carrying a wheel of blue cheese about in my backpack, we've come a long, long way together. 

There has been cheese, and coffee, and oils and vinegars. There have been influencers, and TV crews and people looking for a fun Saturday afternoon. I hope I've shown them all a really good time, seeing as I've hustled so hard i have barely any pictures. 

I've lost count of how many steps I've taken, how many hot chocolates I've served, just how many wedges of lime I have tucked into servings of Jawbox. I can show you the spot where ginger ale was invented, where the Capstans were lifted, when the Belfast bap was born. One of these days, I might even shut up about the late 1800s.

It's been a joy. A delight. I'll miss it so, so much. But apparently working every hour of every day isn't good for you and so the time has come to hang up my hat. Thank you, for allowing me to be part of Belfast throwing its arms open to visitors and homebirds alike. Its been a privilege and a joy. 

Belfast? Pro tanto quid reretribuamus. I hope I've given back a little. You have given me so, so much ❤️

Sorry to get all sentimental, but it would have been Dad's 70th birthday today. This morning, I walked past this recipe, written by me, given to me by my Granny over the phone when I was really quite young. She probably made them for him when he was really quite young, too.

It seemed obvious to knock up a batch of Wee Buns and share the recipe with you all. Sort of like those sappy bloggers, but with a real story, and a slightly emotional Little Pink Cookery Club this time (although with a lot more running chat than I expected).

I'll be back to normal midweek dinners on Thursday, promise. Link in all the usual places.

1. I am at the point of sunny weather where I just believe it is going to be like this all the Summer long. Fully planning weeks and months of sea swimming and garden lazing and all sorts. Please do not burst my bubble, Barra.
2. Except I'm Northern Irish enough not to want to invoke the law of sod.. My current two pairs of shorts situation might impress Marie Kondo, but alas I am not organised enough with washing for this to be sustainable during a prolonged sunny patch. BUT, if I so much as even think of clicking 'Add to basket', then the rains will be unending until September so maybe I'll just make do. It'll be grand.
3. Talking of 'Add to basket' I am > < this close to buying an airfryer. I resisted hard for I was foolish enough to think they were merely for freezer tapas but no! My sister knocked me up a ham and cheese croissant in MINUTES a while back, and my love for a ham & cheese croissant is a great thing. THEN, somebody was making crispy chickpeas and all sorts when I was spending far too much time looking at reels last week and it planted a seed that is growing. Or being toasted in like 30 seconds flat. Whatever. Will it change my life? Does it go in the dishwasher? Where the hell will I put it?
4. God if I get an airfryer I might finally put the effort in to perfecting a ripoff version of that mushroom & cheese croissant I ate in an airport Starbucks once. It had bechamel sauce and everything in and I think about it often. The thought of that is making me > < this close now.
5. My Mum brought me a bottle of pink wine earlier. And aren't mother's always right? I'm cracking it open immediately. Have a good one!

2. OBVIOUSLY my big thing this week is the Little Pink Cookery Club. A little audio in your pocket, ready for me to help you talk you through cooking the dinner. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU to everyone who has signed up already. I love you more than 90s dance. Link the bio, etc. 

3. I managed to remove an entire set of gel nails using a quarter of a teaspoon of acetone. I would like a medal. Now my nails are the only on trend part of me. 

4. These are minging. When will I ever learn to resist a yellow sticker? The apple did not fall far from the Ballymena tree, let me tell you. 

5. Its my birthday tomorrow. I have been instructed to leave the three year old with my Mum (LOVE YOU MUM) to bring my nails put for dinner. I'm torn between pouring a Friday night glass of wine and not bothering so I can enjoy a full, deep, delicious night of sleep. Watch this space (or watch these stories. Who knows?) Hope you all have a fab one x
