1. It is Friday. It has been a while. But Mr P and I and my subtle new skirt are going to for one final time before they close. I remember being invited to the opening nearly 14 years ago, when 'food blogging' was a brand new concept and you didn't even need to voiceover a cheese pull or anything. It was fun, it was exciting, and over those 14 years, it has woven its way into my memories like no other. That pork scallopine will be one of my forever favourites, sure, but even more than that, it has been where Mr P and I escaped dust, where I met up with new friends, where we've toasted life and death and everything in between. And on my nostalgia trip, I remembered that I might not do videos of cheese pulls, but it is fun sharing the workings of Sarah, so here I am.
2. I shared this loo on stories this week and honestly, to attempt to be down with the kids, it needed a space on the grid. It was at a restaurant we stopped at on holiday in France and the 3 year old kept asking 'WHY IS MUMMY TAKING A PICTURE OF THE TOILET?' in his loudest voice, and to be honest, I didn't even mind because anybody who had borne witness to this loo clearly knows why.
3. Still running, and this was my pre-run fuel of choice today. Not entirely coincidental that I had the world's most euphoric run after and understand the endorphins now. We are up to week 6 of this couch to 5k caper and it is GREAT.
4. Well, mostly great. I am used to exercising alone, in my spare room. Therefore I am used to getting sweaty whilst only wearing a pair of leggings and a sports bra and at some point in every run, I have to rip my t-shirt off like a woman possessed. It is a sight to behold. Now. To be fair. Aforementioned t-shirt is usually one of the ones I bought last year on Vinted for £1.50 for a pack of three but do I actually need special wicking fabric or can I just keep going in my bra?
5. HAPPY FRIDAY! I'm off for a glass of prosecco. For it has come into and gone out of fashion for sure in the last 14 years, but it feels right. If I have ever chinked a glass with you in our iconic local Italian, I'll be thinking of you tonight x
