Firstly, thank you again to everybody for being so utterly lovely. I actually think I love you all ❤️

Secondly, I am absolutely not pretending everything is A-OK, but just letting you all know that I'll be at the this coming Saturday 💃

You'll be able to buy tubs of my butter masala sauce so you can make butter chicken at home, along with a couple of other cooking sauces, including the only one I am craving at the minute 😜

I'll even be taking pre-orders for Christmas nibbles that you can collect at the market on the 23rd 🎄

It is over.

The body was cremated today, a short family affair that felt right after such a public show yesterday. Both were right, both were needed, both will be held close to us all in times to come.

Thank you all, so much, for all your love and support. Thank you for so, so many kind words. Thank you, most of all, for being so generous with your memories. From serving dad in a supermarket to getting advice as a young journalist, I have loved hearing every single one of these stories, and I will treasure them forever.

Just a quick message to let you know that the Little Pink Kitchen is closed for the next two weeks.

Infertility saved the cruellest blow of all for our last ever IVF embryo transfer, and just a few short weeks after the joy of a positive pregnancy test, I am currently enduring the utter hell in my own body that is miscarriage.

I know that far too many of you understand exactly what I am going through, and I am so sorry about that. It is a pain like no other.

1. I do hope you enjoy this picture of me many, many years ago on my very first day of St Multose Junior Infants, Kinsale. No, I don't know what I'm doing with my hands either, but it is a vay seasonal picture.
2. I really hope that those of you who find the back to school pictures are doing OK. When you are deep in the fertility struggle, it is the worst of them all.
3. I would like some sort of award for causing this nice weather. It was me drinking that glass of rosé on Monday that caused it. Panic not, I'm not going to go buy another, lest I jinx it.
4. There is a real risk that all future offerings from the Little Pink Kitchen will be soup. For the toddler seems to actually eat any vegetable if presented in soup format? Make it make sense. It'll be butter chicken soup before we know it.

Dinner a deux.

Onion and celery softened. Quarter of a teaspoon each of cayenne and paprika. Teaspoon of cumin. Two cloves of garlic. Half a bottle of passata. Tin of mixed beans. Simmer while you cook some couscous.

Topped with yoghurt, toasted almonds and coriander because I'm pretty chill about normal toddler fussy eating, but I simply cannot tolerate a child that hates my most beloved herb 🙈🙈🙈

When I was having a total career crisis earlier this year, I wound up cooking butter chicken one Friday night, just for us two. I’m working on some more options, but that ‘behind-the-scenes’ thought process in on my blog right now. And you can order some for this week if you rly want. Although my glass of wine this week is definitely going to be red 😂

I kept a glass at the bottom of the bottle because I thought we might get more sun and that simply does not seem to be happening. So autumnal rosé it is on t he Monday-est Monday ever. Now, who wants to come cook my dinner for me? (Yes, I know that is essentially what I do for all you butter chicken fans. You can order for this Friday on my website now. I promise I’ll find some mojo by then. Might finish this glass of wine first 🍷)

I mean there are about four in each portion of butter chicken 😂 (This week's is up on the website for collection from East Belfast on Friday afternoon. Pick it up, take it home, pop it in the oven and enjoy the garlicky goodness. I promise I tie my hair back and banish the dog 😂)
