We were working hard this morning, breathing in the sea air and enjoying the great outdoors at Southsea beach- until a bomb from World War 2 surfaced. 💣
🚨 The police set up an evacuation zone, and our efforts to continue the mark-out around its edge were soon hindered by the bomb squad.
The bomb weighs 1000lbs, and was discovered by a digger carrying out coastal defence works alongside our site survey. 🌊
Whilst this is definitely the most random issue we've faced on site, we're lucky that the client was so understanding- and, all in all, this is for the best in the long run. 😂
Whats the most unforseen problem you've faced in your event planning? 👇
It's nearly been a week since we were soaking up the good vibes at @theshowmansshow 🫏
If you can't tell, we thoroughly enjoyed visiting the animals on site. 🦖

We had the best day at Southampton Boat Show last Thursday!
There's no better feeling than visiting the events we design- seeing how everything has come together and experiencing the plan in real life is very satisfying.
This was a particularly special visit as our public maps were posted across the site! We were very happy to see them being used by attendees, and couldn't resist getting some pictures 😉
Who else was there?
Who else is looking forward to a fun-filled weekend at Pub in the Park with Tom Kerridge & Friends in Reigate?
Music, food, and family fun- we love working with Pub in the Park, and can't wait to see this all come to life!
When you're enjoying some mind-blowing food and exploring Priory Park, remember that every aspect of the festival has been carefully designed with your experience this weekend as the top priority.
Grab a ticket if you haven't already and roll on the weekend!

We definitely enjoyed putting our ToughCAD Plans to the test onsite at Bristol Sounds with Crosstown Concerts (satisfying, right?)
The results?
Enduring quality, allowing us to refer to our designs throughout the build with no problems.
We love looking at our designs, but they're not pieces of art- they're fully developed plans which need to be able to withstand the chaotic (and often messy) world of events planning.
Don't worry about keeping your plans out of the rain, off the ground or in a "safe spot" again; printing with Tough CAD Plans ensured that the high quality of our designs spoke for themselves.
Did you go to Bristol Sounds last weekend?
Wondering how it all came together?
Peek behind the scenes and see how we developed this event for Crosstown Concerts with some help from ToughCAD Plans ; their high quality, ultra durable prints were invaluable during the site build.
What was your favourite set from weekend 1?

Using our survey measurements, Red Bull was able to reconstruct the precise proportions of Tower Bridge with these cranes so that the skydivers could train.
Jumping from a colossal 3000 feet (9.5 times higher than Big Ben!), the dive trajectories had to be perfectly planned to ensure the skydivers cleared the gap safely and landed on the pontoons; this has been a huge part of our design process.
We also had to map alternate trajectories based on wind direction and tide level- if the pontoons shifted even slightly on the Thames, the skydivers would need to accelerate at a completely different time to make the landing.
It's been amazing watching all of this come together over the last year; seeing the success of this project feels like we stuck the landing too!
Big congratulations to everybody involved (kudos Ops People), and we can't wait to share some more exciting things coming down the pipeline.
The planning for this stunt has been a fascinating process, and we want to give you a glimpse behind the scenes as to how we made this magic happen.
We began with a survey and data collection of Tower Bridge in which we determined the exact proportions of the gap; this was replicated with cranes for the divers to train with in Oxfordshire over the last year.
We tracked this training data to integrate their flight trajectories into our site plans, and used that information to determine how they would fly through the bridge.
This meant that we could also locate the drop zone, media helicopter locations, no fly zones, and the pullout point.
The culmination of this trajectory is obviously in the landing: we had to map exactly where the skydivers would need to 'flare' to accelerate up after reaching speeds of 248kph and pull off the stunt, opening their canopies to land safely on the pontoons.
This is even less simple than it sounds; the pontoons were pulled by tug boats on the Thames and thus affected by the tide, which had to be incorporated into our designs.
We also had to ensure that pedestrian traffic was cordoned off, the bridge closed to vehicle traffic, safety boats and medical teams in position, cameras placed and drone flights tracked: this was essential in keeping the divers safe whilst capturing this jaw-dropping footage.
In total, we had 4 sets of plans dependant on elevations, drone trajectories, the site, and wind direction. And we could only decide which plan to use 24 hours before the stunt.
We love collaborating with Red Bull & Ops People. A year of hard work and diligent preparation culminated in this 45 second stunt- absolutely worth it!

We've been busy!
This project has been one of our most unique; over the last year, we've been working with @redbulluk to make this jump happen.
Taking everything from Tower Bridge's proportions to tide data, we mapped the skydiver's precise trajectories to ensure a successful stunt and safe landing.
This is the groundbreaking moment that Austrian skydivers Marco Watenspiel and Marco Fürst flew through London's Tower Bridge at 246 KPH.
Jumping from a height of 3000 feet, it was only 45 seconds before they had shot through the 65 x 32 metres gap and landed safely on the river Thames.
This is the first time that a wingsuit skydive through Tower Bridge has even been attempted! It's been hard to keep this project a secret, and we're delighted to finally share our involvement- more details to come.
