You can’t be part of a female-driven industry and not be inspired by the women you share space with.

Running a business in 2025 is tough and there are many more things that stack up and make it harder when it’s a woman at the helm of the ship.

Every day I hear stories of bravery, tenacity and triumph. But compassion, wisdom and generosity too. And this is what it’s like to run a business as a woman in 2025: we have to do it with balance because whatever life looks like outside of the business… it is a constant juggle to make it all work.

And no matter who supports us, lifts us up and helps us find the balance that works for us, I’d say it’s impossible to run a business today without a tribe of women who also ‘get’ it.

So this is my chance to say thank you to you all. You ladies know who you are.

Women are at the heart of my business — it’s a bridal boutique FGS! And it is a real privilege to help the brides who walk through these doors to dig deep, challenge the (sometimes unkind) narrative they have told themselves or heard throughout their life. And to reframe these stories so they feel that unshakable confidence that comes when they step not only into their dream dress… but into themselves.

These women and sharing these heartfelt moments will never fail to inspire me to keep on challenging narratives about size, style, and beauty.

It can feel like I help these women come home. And nothing brings me more joy than the candid snaps that are shared with me, the notes of thanks that tell me how my brides felt the best version of themselves on their wedding day. And seeing a woman shine in her light on the best day of her life.

In a world that encourages us to be tough in business and in life, sadly I’m not surprised to observe that women can be the harshest critics… of themselves and each other.

Of course I wish for equality, and am furious that the gender gap will not be closed in my lifetime - or even my sons’. But today my greatest hope is that women will extend the same kindness to themselves that they do to the other women in their lives. We don’t need to toughen up, ladies and we really don’t need to be so hard on ourselves.

Every single wedding gown on my rails has been chosen for its style and quality finish. I adore each and every one of these designs and I get as excited when brides want to change little details as I do when I help to plan a full customisation.

Thinking of booking your Bridal Appointment…here are some more of my Top Tips 🤍

• Wear make-up (if you usually do - just no lipstick). You wouldn't arrive to your wedding with wet hair or no make-up, so bring your best self to your appointment.

• Wear high-waisted underwear if possible, and skin-tones are the best colour for a bridal fitting.

• If you have a Pinterest board or an Instagram album stacked with ideas, have a last-minute browse of these inspirational photos and notice which dresses stand out and what style of wedding dress you imagine yourself in.

• Be open and honest with me, I'm your dedicated bridal stylist for the day - and I'm here to help. So, I really don’t mind if you dislike something - just tell me as it will help my next dress selection for you.
