“We booked Boconnion for our wedding weekend and could not have been happier. The venue’s wedding planner Caroline was absolutely incredible. She helped us from start to finish sharing her trusted suppliers, meeting us for site visits, recommending things, and helping us make decisions.

In the lead up she was always there to guide us and be in contact with us and our suppliers. During the weekend, and wedding day she made sure everything ran smoothly, assisting us with absolutely everything we needed, from decorations to keeping us calm. The whole weekend was absolutely amazing!

So what happens when your celebrant suddenly gets sick? Up until this time last year, this had NEVER happened to us - but never, say never - Lisa suddenly got sick and completely lost her voice!!!

So THANK GOODNESS Sam was on hand to pick up the reins and deliver the ceremony just as smoothly, warmly and professionally as Lisa would have done - and this really is the benefit of booking a celebrant who works with a team - the transition is absolutely seamless!

THE FIRST DANCE...The time you will most definitely find me in the corner with a tissue in hand. This is one of my absolute favourite parts of the day. The planning is over, the ceremony is done, you are now married and for that short moment there is only you in the room. A moment you can breath, look at one another and take it all in.

Rain on your wedding day is good luck because it signifies that your marriage will last. As you know, a knot that becomes wet is extremely hard to untie – therefore, when you “tie the knot” on a rainy day, your marriage is supposedly just as hard to unravel!

As much as we can plan anything, the weather unfortunately is the only element of your day that we have zero control over. With the Cornish weather being very unpredictable there is ALWAYS a plan B just incase we have to negotiate it. Come rain or shine we have you covered!

Looking back at a beautiful day on the first anniversary of R&D.

A traditional church wedding, followed by a marquee reception at the stunning location. Their guests were indulged with forever flowing champagne and cocktails with a local feasting menu. They danced into the night with live entertainment and boy did these guys party!

The wedding season is well on the way and although it's a long season to get through you will always find me laughing and enjoying every minute of all of my couples weddings. I hope this is what sets me apart from other wedding planners. My personable approach to wedding planning and events and delivering a relaxed environment for my couples, their guests and the suppliers involved. I could say it's all about design and logistics however that's a small part of what I do. For me it's about the people and the experience everyone has on the day and of course fun!

Here I am with my bride once all the formalities had taken place and the couple had the most incredible band from Glastonbury. I couldn't resist!

English Garden..... A wedding of true romance and magic.

F&A wanted to create an intimate garden gathering at their home to celebrate with their closest loved ones. Surrounded by hedgerow inspiration, dusky pinks and vintage flare we styled this beautiful setting. Their guests enjoyed local seafood and live entertainment, whilst they watched the sun set with a cocktail in hand.

The proudest moment for any father is walking their daughter down the aisle on their wedding day. Here I am almost 10 years ago with my Dad. I remember that walk like it was yesterday and will cherish that moment for a lifetime.

Ahh, the “unplugged ceremony”. This is a phrase that’s universally understood in the wedding world now, but that didn’t really exist – or need to exist – until the last fifteen years or so with the rampant rise of cell phone usage. There are many mixed opinions to whether mobile phone should be present during your wedding day and ultimately it's your choice.

Here are a few opinions I often get:

I don't want guests ruining my wedding photos during our ceremony.
I don't want guests uploading images to social media before we have.
I don't want sports played in the background during our speeches.
I wan't my guests fully engaged in our day and be in the moment.
I don't want anyone other than our paid photographer snapping.
I don't want any unflattering images from our day.

There are definitely some to consider for your wedding day, however many smart phones today have some great effects and features on them and can often capture your day in a different way like this very cool image captured by .

CONSULTANCY PROJECT: In 2020 I established a brand new wedding venue in Helland Cornwall. After launching this beautiful country estate I now run all the weddings here with my team. It brings me so much joy when I see all our couples enjoying their weddings in their own unique way. This is a special venue for me which I can't wait to keep growing.

DIY bars can be very appealing with many couples wanting to save costs or offer something unique. However I always hear the questions like “where are we going to buy this from”? “Shall we do a trip to France or purchased on a sale or return basis?” “What drinks should we offer, how much shall we buy?, who will serve them?”.

DIY bars seem to be on trend for this year and next. I get it it seems like a good idea, BUT trust me when I tell you there is A LOT more to it!

Two years ago today I was gearing up for my biggest installation to date! After 3 years of planning (thank you Covid), 35 suppliers, 2 marquees, 45 team members, 3 wedding planners, a toastmaster and 200 guests we had THE best day celebrating the wedding of & .

With a 7 course fine dining menu, Ariel acrobatics show, cocktails, 3 live acts and a lot champagne I couldn’t be happier to see these two get married.

Happy two year anniversary to you both! I know you will continue to celebrate in your elaborate ways for many years to come! 😂 Thank you for letting me be apart of your day.

Of course like every wedding I couldn’t do it without a great team and boy did these guys work hard. Even more so as I was 36 weeks pregnant with my twins!
