Whilst floristry is very much the heart of the business, Jane’s eagle eye interest in design & packaging, home & interiors remains prominent when sourcing products for the shop. “To me they blend so naturally amongst the flowers and plants, one good design product next to another makes perfect sense to me!”

Becoming independent and starting my own business was only part of my motivation to create Ruby Bloom. it would have meant nothing if I hadn’t given it a soul. A place for people to be inspired and enjoy hanging out in. The stuff money can’t buy.

So, thank you to everyone for all the lovely messages. I am quite overwhelmed. Proud to have created something so many people felt an affinity towards.

So, I did get to express my creativity, keep shop and meet some wonderful people I can now call friends.

Ruby Bloom has certainly been a roller coaster of a ride from start to finish and I have enjoyed ever second of it.

I can proudly say I got to create a style and steer the business exactly in the way I wanted, no compromise; and got away with it for fifteen and a half years… no mean feat in Wakefield!

The impact of Covid the last few years has put a real strain on the business, leaving me no option but to sadly close the doors. So thank you to all the wonderful customers who have supported the Bloom over the years. For giving me artistic license to create for you, and most importantly thank you for all the great chats and laughs we have mutually shared over the years, I hope those wooden walls don’t have ears! 😬

🙋‍♀️Frustratingly Ruby Bloom (shop) is closed until Sunday I am afraid. NHS track and trace have instructed me to isolate for 5 days.

Hopefully I will be back with flowers in my hand on Sunday!

The shop is now open from Friday 2nd July ahead of schedule due to changes in my holiday destination being put in the green risk list! 🤙 I no longer need to self isolate

Ruby Bloom is having a holiday! We will be closed now until Thursday the 1st July where we will be taking orders for DELIVER ONLY until Saturday 10th July. For customers who would have collected, we will deliver locally FREE of charge. The shop will be back open on Saturday 10th July as normal.

Bell jars also known as apothecary vases are an absolute favourite at the Bloom. In fact it’s pretty much the only shape we sell.

They are perfect in every way. Even those of you who say you struggle to display flowers at home well would find this shape effortless. They also look super cool and pared back. What’s not to like? 🤷🏼‍♀️

We have had ANOTHER delivery of different sizes this morning. Will I ever be bell jarred out? 🙈 NEVER!
