Farewell to our 2024 leavers as they embark on their next chapter. A special thank you to Stephen and his team at Hodroyd Hall for providing our students with a venue that they will forever cherish and reflect on with fond memories of their Barnsley Academy journey!

The dining room at the Hall is also known as the Gargrave Room after a previous owner, Sir Thomas Gargrave. He was the Commons’ Speaker in the first Parliament of Queen’s Elizabeth’s reign in 1559.

Felkirk Church on a summer’s day. The history of the 900 year old Church and Hall are closely intertwined. There is a local belief that the two are connected by a tunnel; as yet we haven’t found it but the search continues!

Merry Christmas from John Monckton, 1st Viscount Galway, (1695-1751) who lived at the Hall for much of his life. He keeps an eye on the proceedings at the Hall from his elevated position on the Hall’s Elizabethan stair case.
