Riva Fireworks
Fireworks at Riva del Garda. In Italy, many say that summer ends with the first rain after Ferragosto, a national public holiday that dates back to the Emperor Augustus. They have a huge fireworks display on the lake at Riva. A couple of years ago I took a boat ride that night and witnessed the fireworks from the water, hearing the reverberations off the mountains around about. On the way back, we were caught in a spectacular thunderstorm and got absolutely drenched!
