Today I used these guys to collect a load of clothes, shoes, books, toys (shh don't tell the kids) and other things from my doorstep. It's free, it's easy, and as you can see from my photo they took loads! They actually collected more than this because my Mum added bags to it after I'd taken the photo.

I love knowing that things are getting a second life, but I didn't have time to load all of this into the car to take to a charity shop to be told they aren't taking books/clothes/toys at the moment.

I booked the collection about 2 weeks ago as I knew I had loads to sort through. They sent me an email asking me to put certain things together (clothes and fabric) and then bric-a-brac separately. Then last night I got an email with a 2 hour window in which they hoped to collect. As it happened they were running late but I was able to track it through the link in my email and even knew the drivers name and van registration.

I'll be using these guys again.

This was originally posted just over a year ago. I have added more kit in that time.

This is just some of my party kit, not all of it. I'm 5ft 2" and this tower is a bit taller than I am, but it's made up of mostly 2nd hand items, the majority of it is not new. So if you decide to have a last minute event and want to add a bit of colour, or just don't want to have to do the washing up then pop me a message. The chances are I will have availability. And this is another reason why party kits are such a good idea - not everyone has the space to store a kit only to be used a handful of times.

With two bookings this weekend, one booking for February and one for April it's starting to pick up again after the December lull. It's lovely to see reusables becoming more popular. ♻️

It's been so quiet here, but it's still been busy behind the scenes, I've just been terrible at updating the page, sorry 😞
I've had parties in October, November and December. Together we have saved 1000's of pieces of party ware from being put into landfill this year, and we've had more repeat customers too.

All in all it's been another great year for getting people to think about reusables and helping to minimise waste.

So here's to 2025, I hope it brings you peace and prosperity.

There are two kits out for hire this weekend. The plastic champagne flutes and wine "glasses" for a PTA event and the pastel kit for a party of 30 with jugs, platters and large serving plates. That's 220 pieces of reusable party ware helping to make parties more environmentally friendly.

It's that time of year! As the shops are flooded with plastic confectionery containers in the run up to Halloween, Greene King have confirmed they are running their Tub2Pub scheme again. The aim is to collect clean, empty, plastic cracker, chocolate and biscuit containers and take them to a participating Greene King pub where they then sell them onto companies who shred them and use them to make things like play equipment rather than buying new plastic. Greene King then donate 100% of the proceeds from the sale to MacMillan Cancer Support.

Once again the lovely Costa Wallingford have offered to be a drop off point. So please take any clean empty containers to them and I will collect from there. For each collection of containers I make I will also make a donation to the Costa Foundation. So 2 charities will benefit from the scheme, and it's a win for the environment too as the tubs are often not easily recycled at most recycling branches.

With the help of Costa Wallingford last year we collected 273 tubs with lids, and that was just over the Christmas period. Think of how many more tubs we could recycle from Halloween too.

Now that the summer holidays are over the party season seems to be starting to pick up again. I have quotes and confirmed bookings for the bright and pastel kit during September, October, November and December. It's great to see so many people moving away from disposables. Long may it last. ♻️♻️🎉

Two kits are out this weekend. The bright kit was a prize from a competition I ran a few months ago to choose the name of the "tropical kit". 309 pieces of reusable party ware in total. ♻️

It's been a busy weekend this weekend. There's been 3 quotes to do, an invoice to raise for a PTA event for our wine and champagne flutes and a party of 26 to get ready with blue, green and white colours.

Before and after shots of the new backdrop that I've been ironing this afternoon. One more go this evening and I think all the creases should come out. Then it'll be rolled up for storage until it's needed.

I haven't measured it yet but it's nearly as big as our double bed, so ironing it on our small ironing board has been quite a challenge.

I now have 15 of these plates ready for hire. Along with the bunting, back drop and a few other decorations on the way there's certainly a theme going on.

This is going to be my nemesis for the next few days/weeks. Just under 40M of bunting strands that need ironing and then sewing. I'm not a big fan of ironing, and I haven't used a sewing machine for 30+ years. So I'm a bit anxious about doing it, but can't afford to pay someone else to. It should look lovely when it's all completed though (hopefully).

That's the last of this weekend's kit cleaned up. 312 pieces of reusable party ware helping to make an event environmentally friendly. Tomorrow it'll all be boxed up and put away in anticipation of the next event. ♻️♻️
