Did you know that one of our close neighbours is celebrating being 150 years old this weekend?

Walsall Arboretum is a Victorian park which is located close to the town centre. It opened in 1874. It covers 170 acres and includes Hatherton Lake, the country park and the extension.
The park includes gardens, green spaces, play areas, and sports facilities.
When you visit the Arboretum, you will see a wide range of plants and wildlife as well as over 10,000 different species of trees and shrubs.

Today is Leap Year Day 2024 and here are a few strange but true facts about the day.
The origin of leap year came from Julius Caesar, the Father of Leap Year, in 45 BC.
People who are born on this day are known as Leapers or Leaplings, but they may be hard to find because approximately 4.8 million people from across the globe claim a leap day birthday out of 8 billion people!
Leap Year Day has an official cocktail, a “Leap Day Cocktail” is a blend of lemon juice, gin, Grand Marnier, and sweet vermouth. Shake, serve, garnish with a lemon peel, and enjoy the bittersweet flavours.
According to UK tradition, it's OK for a woman to propose to a man on February 29th.
The Chinese believe that a leap year is an auspicious time to tie the knot.
