Happy New Year all, I have been involved in sustainability talks today. I am happy to be contributing to sustainability with my little business- A little food for thought-
When buying fresh funeral flowers
*Chrysanthemums and carnations are imported from many countries, one of the biggest importers is Columbia followed closely by Ecuador.
*One letter of a tribute holds on average 3 bunches of either flowers. This is roughly 20+ flower heads.
* Crematoriums display tributes for between 48 hours and 7 days. Each Crematorium has their own time allowance.
* Tributes are generally not recycled as they are a combination of Fresh flowers, oasis, ribbon and plastic.
Council crematoriums generally landfill all tributes in bins provided.
Private Crematoriums generally try to compost the flowers then landfill the rest.
Please consider the air miles associated with tributes used for less than 2hours and consider using our silky artificial flowers.

A beautiful review received today from a lovely family who do not have Facebook to post directly.

Thank you all for the recent bookings. Hire a Wreath is proud to support the local community with our little environmenlty friendly business. 💐 Each tribute is decorated in new fresh crisp ribbon and beautiful white carnations. 🎀 The plastic lettering is cleaned and reused, we do not use oasis saving these items to go into landfill. 🚮Due to the lower purchase costs we can pass on this saving to customers, 💷 this gives families the opportunity to have the tributes they want at a loved one’s funeral as we don’t charge per letter only per word- After ordering a package from us we have found that many families that use our service are happy with the amount of flowers at a service so request family and friends to make donations to chosen charities in the loved ones name. 💖 Thank you for helping our little business grow

A resent bespoke tribute for my beautiful nephews funeral. His favourite cup of tea and a slice of cake made to display at the rear of the hearse. 🩵💐

Yesterday we laid to rest my beautiful nephew Robert, his life was celebrated with a beautiful service surrounded by lots of family and loved ones. I had the honour of providing the family floral tributes.
Pop in for a cupa or call those close to you, life isn’t promised, it’s a gift we should cherish along with the special people around us. 🩵💐
