Sapling and Sheep. A piece based on The Man Who Planted Trees by Jean Giono. All elements have been found on my local walks. The saplings are planted in soil and I’m looking forward to seeing how they grow in the birch bark. There’s also a piece of stone near the larger sapling, this makes it look even more like my surrounding area. It has a divet in it that I wanted to fill with water as my dog, Wilma, drinks rain water that has collected in the dips in the stones. She has regular drinking holes she goes to. It’s a tiny world that I can see. Ways of seeing 💚

Some lucky people are about to embark on the Cambo Experience. It’s a magical experience. I’m lucky to have been there twice. Cambo Gardens are located on the most beautiful coast line of Fife. It’s snowdrop time and I was there this time last year. The first two photos are what I created there but the third one are the snowdrops I brought home and they are in bud. I now have a bit of Cambo in a corner of my garden under an amelanchier tree. Thank you and and for a time I won’t forget. Snowdrops mean hope and new beginnings, how perfect.

Do you know a woodpecker by its flight? Do you get a thrill when you see a flash of green? Can you hear the deer running? Can you see its white bottom? Can you smell the wild honeysuckle and then see if you can find it? Do you taste the first buds on a gorse bush? Do you stroke the soft furry bud on a willow on your top lip? Do you smell the earth where the mushrooms grow? Do you marvel at the first green colour or at a fern unfurling? There are so many things to see, hear, smell, taste and touch. If you want to live in the moment just for one day and actually see nature, if you want to gather things that inspire you and then create a piece of work that is special to you, then you must sign up for my Walk, Gather, Create 1:1. We will connect with nature. We will also have a picnic and make a cup of tea on a little camping stove, there’s nothing quite like eating outside in the wild. It’s a day to reawaken the senses. I’d love to spend the day with you. Get in touch or put it on your wish list. It makes a great present. Xx Foraging bag by My foraging bag by Photos all taken by the brilliant

I thought I’d try to explain what I do. I create pieces from natural elements that I find on my walks. In my stories last Sunday I showed pictures of the mist hanging in the valley. That was my inspiration for this piece. I’ve used wild clematis as the mist and hawthorn in berry as trees and some moss in the foreground to try to create perspective, not sure I succeeded with that. The whole creation is made out of things that are around now. Everything I use is natural, found and always local. I just try to open my mind and see things, really see things and then I bring it all together in one, totally gathered, piece. This one has been beautifully captured by the talented 📷

I had to share these images. They were taken by my friend Eva Nemeth. I think she’s captured something really special, a slice of my and Wilmas everyday life. She often needs to be washed due to a muddy walk or having rolled in poo, which she does quite often, it is her Channel No.5 after all! I wash her in the kitchen sink. We both know the routine and we quietly get on with it. It feels like a private moment has been captured and it tells a story. Thank you Eva 💚.

This is my garden. I like it because it’s a bit wild. On Saturday and Sunday, 17th and 18th, it is open as part of the National Garden Scheme. There are 6 gardens and the allotments open to view in my village, Warton near Carnforth in North Lancashire. They are open 10am to 5pm. I’d love you to come and say hello. It’s very good value for money and you can buy tea/coffee and a piece of cake all of which are homemade by all the good bakers of Warton 😁
