Sara and Andy were married at Black Horse Beamish last week and what an amazing day it was. I really don’t know which was crazier that day, this wonderful couple or the weather! Storm Darragh was kicking off big style but that didn’t stop us getting outside for a few shots around the beautiful grounds. I can still see them both laughing so much at me hiding behind that bush. 😂

Amazingly their wedding ceremony was intimate in the gorgeous rustic George Ridley Room followed by their reception and evening party in the beautiful large marquee. It’s the first time in 7 years it’s been this way for me and it was perfect, not just for me as a photographer but also the guests being able to have the best of both!

As for Sara and Andy, they were simply themselves, having fun and being crazy. Exactly how everyone should be on their wedding day. I loved it and I certainly know they did 😬

To make things even better their first dance song is my all time favourite Christmas song! 🎶🎵🎼 What a day!!

Paula and Alan were married at Beamish Hall last week and it was another amazing day for many reasons.

When I walked into the bridal prep with all the girls expecting me to be a fire fighter I knew it was going to be a different kind of wedding day! I soon found out they were a lively lot who were going to up for a laugh! To be fair the fire alarm had just went off earlier so I soon understood why 😂

Alan who I’ve known for years was cooler and calmer than I’ve ever seen him before. He and his 2 best men Andy and Robbie absolutely smashed it ☺️

Paula looked beautiful and things got quite emotional with her son Taylor during the bridal prep and speeches, who did an amazing job walking her down the aisle.

Again it was nice to see a few faces I hadn’t seen for a while but for me personally it was just amazing to be part of Alan’s wedding who is one of the nicest people anyone will ever meet! Only one fitting thing about it all…Happy Days!!

Jemma & Marc were married a few weeks back at The Black Horse Beamish. Yesterday they received 75 preview photographs. The response I got from them seriously brought a tear to my eye. It’s that split second when that reply comes through that you stop to think that those late nights editing really are worth it 🥲 Beautiful!

As for Jemma and Marc’s wedding day! It was just perfect! Two of the most genuine, lovable people I’ve ever met with the most amazing story of life, love and happiness! 🥲

When I meet any bride and groom before they book I always explain how I’ll meet them again before their wedding to go through their timings, group shots and any ideas they have of their own that they would like to try.

Caroline & Lee were married last month and one of their requests was a black and white tilt photograph with the lighthouse in the background in colour.

It’s not something I would usually do without being asked but I have to say…it does look good!

So to all our couples who have already booked, get on Pinterest, find those images you like and get them sent to me. It’s going to be fun and remember these are “your” photographs! ☺️📸⚡️

I never expect anything other than a quick message to say our couples like their final photos but when we receive a lovely card and gift like this, it means the absolute world to me. It lets me know they were happy with everything and I did everything the right way to make their day better. That’s all that ever matters to me. Thank you Steph and Stephen ☺️

Amanda and Neil were married at Thomas Wright House in Byers Green a couple of weeks back.

I shot Amanda’s daughter’s wedding 4 years ago and again it was like meeting old friends when we had our pre-wedding meeting.

Amanda and Neil were so laid back they were virtually horizontal 😂 Everything was lovely and really fun! Their guests were great and the venue had everything covered.

Even Ted their dog got amongst the action carrying the rings. I love the smaller, intimate weddings. It means you can really get in there with the cameras and get those close meaningful shots you normally wouldn’t.

Amanda and Neil got their 80 or so preview photographs last night. They love them! ☺️ Their first dance song has a special place in my heart too 🎶🎼

Laura and Ryan were married at Le Petit Chateau last week and it was a lovely day. I used to work with Ryan years ago before we both seen the light and moved on 😂 It’s lovely seeing people I’ve never seen for years.

As for their wedding it was beautiful! Laura and her bridesmaids had a lovely morning during the bridal prep and had each other in kinks laughing. Girls are just crazy when they get together 😂

Ryan and the lads smashed their speeches and everyone had a lovely day having fun and just being together with one other. I love it when I can feel the love between people. Makes it all the more special!! ☺️
