Commitment Ceremonies are becoming more popular as an alternative to a formal wedding. They afford you the freedom of holding your ceremony in any location and can follow any theme or style. It is a really meaningful way of saying β€œI will love you forever” and affirming your lifelong commitment to each other in front of your family and friends gathered in your favourite place. Contact me to discuss how we can create your bespoke Commitment Ceremony.

Full Moon 27th December: The Cold Moon
Peak illumination 00.33am
The Cold Moon illuminates the night sky, marking both the first full moon after the winter solstice and the final full moon of the year. Named by the Mohawk people, it signals the onset of winter's chill.
The Cold Moon carries various names across different cultures. The Old English referred to it as The Cold Moon or the Long Night Moon, while the Celts knew it as the Oak Moon or the Full Cold Moon. Other names include Winter Maker Moon, Snow Moon, and Moon When the Deer Shed Their Antlers, symbolizing the season of renewal for deer species. In Chinese tradition, it is called the Bitter Moon.
Take a moment to appreciate the ethereal beauty of the Cold Moon. In the quiet of the night, reflect on the past year, and embrace the approaching new year with gratitude.

Boxing Day. Why is it called that?

Boxing Day is also referred to as St Stephen's Day. It traces back to St Stephen , who introduced donation boxes in churches for the welfare of the poor.
During Queen Victoria's reign, Boxing Day transformed into a day when the affluent would box up gifts for those in need; it also marked a day of respite for servants, who would receive a boxing day box from their employers as a token of appreciation.
In various European countries and Ireland, Boxing Day is commonly known as St Stephen's Day.

NOVEMBER

November comes
And November goes,
With the last red berries
And the first white snows.

With night coming early,
And dawn coming late,
And ice in the bucket
And frost by the gate.

The fires burn
And the kettles sing,
And earth sinks to rest
Until next spring.

Have you ever thought about holding a ceremony within your ceremony?
Let's talk about adding a commitment or promise ceremony as a special element.

Some couples may already have children or maybe you are blending families with stepchildren.
To celebrate your beautiful blended family you may want to hold a mini commitment or promise ceremony where as parents you pledge your commitment to your child or children or make promises to them that they will carry with them their whole life.

It adds a unique special element to your ceremony that is personal to you as a family and will be remembered for years to come.
It is a really special way to involve your children in your ceremony.

Contact me to discuss your ceremony and any special elements you may want to incorporate.
