Photography doesnt have to be difficult! It’s a walk in the park!😄😅📸 Here’s some pre and post edditing Images.
Editting is just as important as taking images these days. You can take what seems like a simple photo and make it more creative, dynamic or dramatic by playing around with colours, contrast and saturates. Look at your phones edditing app or software. Try to avoid the presets! They have a purpose for your selfie addicts! Instead look at brightness, exposure and contrast. These can enhance your photo. Saturates (colour) and highlights can make the photo more dynamic or dramatic. But also don't forget to crop!.

This week we have compared Camera phones and DSLR Cameras. My conclusion is that phone cameras have improved immensely in the last 5 years. They are always on hand, great for capturing a memory and of course the endless selfies! 😁. DSLRs 📸 have better sensors. The sensor is the heart of any camera, and DSLRs typically have much larger sensors than even the best phone cameras. As a result, they can gather more light, resulting in better image quality. Still worth considering should you wish to take your family portraits or to take street/landscape photpgraphy. Thank you for comments and to those who personally messaged me this week. Now we know Dslr Cameras have the edge over phone cameras. But we will still use phones to take most of our photos as they practically live on us! So why not take your time getting the image as sharp as possible by exploring different angles, focussing on something in the image and try to make it more dynamic. Next time you take photos, explore how you can make your photos more attractive. Look for the focus ring on your screen, tap on what you would like to focus on then zoom in slightly, tap again on the part which remains in focus. Click the button on your phone slowly while holding the phone steady. You should get some blurring around the focussed image (called Bokeh) and this part will be more dynamic. I have put some examples of photos I have taken in the past to get this effect. These were taken with my camera, but if you delve deeper into your phone camera settings you will have similar features. It’s just a bit of fun experimenting and just practicing! 😊

Today I am again comparing 2 images. Camera phone and DSLR Camera. 1st image was taken with my phone of my son’s model car. I took the photo as close as I could, but then once cropped and zoomed in you can see the image seems ok, but pixilated on zoom. However the second photo is much sharper, no cropping or editing and looks almost like a real car 😂

Which did you prefer?
I felt the phone photo of the flower was quite crisp and reasonably sharp without zooming in. The camera version of the photo wasn't as sharp around the centre of the flower, however the blurred background seemed to make the flower stand out more.
With the portrait photos. I felt the phone camera photo was reasonable, but at the same time lacking colour, sharpness and clarity. However I felt the camera photo seemed sharper, detailed and perhaps had more natural colours.
Both images had no post editing.
I will give a few examples through out the week that may help us decide which we prefer. 📸🙂

We have been enjoying our passion for photography professionally since 2009 now. Every type of photography involves different skills and creativity and this is why we like to enjoy the different styles of photography and bring it into practice.

Our main focus is events photography. This covers all types of events from celebrations, proms, corporate and some charity events. We are able to capture the whole event and also provide print on location services.

Most of our events are covered by two professional photographers and only Stuart and myself (Mick) would cover the event. We can also provide assistants to help us in larger events.

LeamFord Photography is based in both Hertfordshire and Warwickshire and we cover both these areas and surrounding areas.
