It is our aim to try and provide a place for everybody within the local community. This is done through various organisations within Wednesbury 2000. We are housed in the Old Post Office, in the heart of the town. Below is a list of what we currently have available, with contact numbers to hire services or to get involved. We are delighted to share that we have been awarded funds from the National Lottery Awards!

We will be receiving £19,164 that will go towards building repairs and enable to bring The Old Post Office further unto Modern day spec.

Last night we hosted a night of live music as a Charity Fundraiser.

The event was organised & headlined by brand new Oasis tribute "What's The Story" and support came from local bands, The Yams & Mazeppa.

The event was to raise money for a cause close to their hearts, The PSP Association who are dedicated to improving the lives of people living with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) and Corticobasal Degeneration (CBD).

🧍‍♀️ 💼 WOMEN’S NETWORKING EVENT 💪🏻 🗣️

This Thursday a special networking event has been set up for women to come together and support each other’s businesses and discusses further opportunites.

We’ve got some great new additions to the board coming along and we can’t wait to share our brand new board and all their roles. It looks like we’ve got some exciting things to look forward to in Wednesbury🎉🎉🎉

👉 WE ARE LOOKING TO EXPAND 👈

And we need your help… 💡

In order to maximise the potential of Wednesbury 2000, we need more than just the four of us running it.

We are looking for volunteers with skills to help us help the community. We have lots of ideas to improve and upscale what we are doing, but we want your ideas too.

All current roles in the Charity are voluntary and unpaid. These additional roles would be the same.

So if you or someone you know has skills in the like of: building maintenance, bookkeeping, charity experience, fundraising, general organisation skills, amongst other things… We’d like to hear from you.

🐣 EASTER DONATION 🐣

Over the Easter weekend we donated 200 chocolate eggs with the help of Marie who has been collecting for local hospitals.

We donated the eggs to Sandwell Hospital Children’s Ward, Birmingham Hospice & Crestar Health Care.

The donations came from ourselves, Kickstarts Dance, Splinter Studios & Gary Evans.

Hopefully a sweet treat helped lift their spirits just a little over the holiday.

A HUGE Thank You to Double Deuce Firing Range!

They very generously donated some vouchers for their services, for us to raffle off and to raise money for our charity and towards our plans for the coming year.

The leftovers from our Christmas Day didn’t go to waste…

We teamed up with both the YMCA and Walsall Outreach to give it to the homeless and those who needed it most.

We managed to put together around 250 Turkey & Chicken cobs, alongside buffet and dessert boxes. We also gave out hygiene kits, sleeping bags, hats, scarves and gloves.

We had a lovely day spent with everybody who attended our Christmas Day warm space.

A big thank you to all of our volunteers who helped on the day and to all the donators who ensured it was all possible. A special thanks to The Richards’ for their amazing generosity and fundraising.

🎁 Another Round of Deliveries done! 🎁

We had to utilise Santas Transit Van for this lot!

Today, we delivered to St Phillips Catholic School, St Albans community centre, Rowley Regis family hub as well as some home drop offs.

Not long till the big day!!

🎁 Next Round of Christmas Parcel Deliveries today! 🎁

We dropped packages off to Wood Green Academy, Holyhead Primary and The Priory.

Another round again tomorrow!

This week is our Christmas parcel delivery week; 1002 presents, 143 selection boxes, 6 schools. 100 children, 50 families, 2 dogs and a cat are going to benefit from the amazing generosity from our community.

We wanted to say a huge thank you for everyone who has donated time, money and presents, this is our 4th year of doing it and our biggest yet.

Big thanks to Judgestock for a huge donation this year, Autoglass for getting 10 of there best involved with organising our food parcels and toys. A massive thank you to Marie who was able to donate and collect the Christmas presents (and also save the day when we ran out of wrapping paper!). St Bartholomew Church and Walsall Women’s Mosque for all their food donations. Wood Green Academy for all their donations from their staff and students, of food toiletries and toys. Also LG Electrical for the huge bundle of gifts they donated.

And finally thanks to everyone who came and helped us wrap this year, it was a gruelling day and we couldn’t have done it without you!

CHRISTMAS DAY AT THE OLD POST OFFICE🎅

Come and spend Christmas Day with us, it’s free entry with food and drinks provided. We’ve got games, music and a lot of Christmas spirit.

If you or someone you know is on their own, struggling to get everything for Christmas Day or who want a space to spend time with their family then you are all very welcome to spend Christmas Day with us.

🎁 CHRISTMAS PARCEL WRAP 2023 🎁

Once again, we are blown away by the generosity of our volunteered that enabled us to get so much done in one day!

Hundreds of gifts were wrapped and bundled together ready to go out to families in a couple of weeks time.

We thought we'd show you a bit of their hard work. This was just the one room as we couldn't get it all. The camera gave up before the hard work did!

🥫🍫 A GLIMPSE INTO OUR FOOD PACKAGES 🧼🎁

Yesterday was about packing up all the food and house items ready to go to those that need them this Christmas.

Here you can see what goes into each box to help ease the pressure on some this Christmas.

Today we’ve had the regional managers from Autoglass volunteering with us to sort, organise and buy the food for the food parcels and sort the toys ready to go to their new homes. They’ve also donated £500 towards getting the parcels!

They have all been absolutely amazing and we would not have got this job done without them today. It’s been an absolute pleasure having you with us, and we cannot thank you all enough for your hard work.

The BIGGEST thank you to Marie who dropped all the gifts purchased through the Amazon list. This is biggest donation we’ve ever received so we think you deserve a huge shout out for all the work you’ve put in getting this together. As well as this she brought with her £500 of donations from businesses she’d spread the work to. We’re massively grateful, thank you so much!

We’re looking for volunteers to help us wrap up the presents we are sending out for our Christmas Parcel Appeal. We will be wrapping up on Saturday 2nd December, 11:30am-3pm at The Old Post Office, Holyhead Road, WS10 7DF. We’ll supply you with drinks and mince pies if you guys bring some Christmas spirit🎅

It’s Christmas time at Wednesbury 2000🎅 and that can only mean one thing…

Wednesbury 2000 Christmas Parcel Appeal.

We’re in full swing with our parcels ready for Christmas, as always we’re proving food and toys for those families in Wednesbury who are most in need. And this year it’s even bigger than it has ever been!!!!

We have some amazing people fundraising, collecting and volunteering on our project this year and we’re going to introduce them to you over the next couple weeks.

First up, we have a lovely lady Marie who has fundraised and set up and Amazon wish list of toys which will be donated to us to give out to the children who been referred to us. She has already had over 130 toys generously donated and there are still more left. If you’d like to buy one of those toys then pop onto the link and purchase one through there. They will be send directly to Marie who is sending them to us.

A big thank you Marie for all your hard work and generosity and to your family and friends for purchasing the toys for us!
