As 2023 draws to a close I want to say a special ‘thank you’ to everyone I’ve had the privilege of working with and supporting this year. I meet people dealing with grief, and those who are celebrating very special events like their marriage, the renewal of their vows, or a new member of their family. And alongside those families, happy couples, and new parents I get to work with lots of others who are also playing their supporting roles; from funeral directors, crematorium staff, venue coordinators, musicians, photographers, and so many more.
Every day I am reminded that being a celebrant is not a job: it’s a vocation that brings with it responsibility and the opportunity to walk with others for a while as they celebrate a special event or prepare to say goodbye to their loved ones. To everyone I’ve worked with and supported this year please accept my thanks, which come from deep within my heart.
Whatever 2024 brings, may you be eased into this new year with peace and love.
