Global drum & bass superstar DJ & producer Goldie is coming to Frome on Saturday 2nd November! 😮

The first superstar produced by the breakbeat jungle movement, Goldie popularised drum’n’bass as a form of musical expression and has gone to become one of the most influential artists in dance music over the past 30 years.

Goldie soared to prominence in 1995 with the ground-breaking album, ‘Timeless,’ widely hailed as one of the most crucial electronic releases ever. Having sold millions of records worldwide, Goldie has sustained a hugely successful career spanning over three decades. Known throughout the music industry as the "King of Jungle", Goldie is an artist whose ferocious creativity knows no bounds, founding the major Drum ‘n’ Bass label ‘Metalheadz,’ later stepping into acting roles for major blockbuster films, including James Bond – ‘The World Is Not Enough’ and Guy Ritchie’s, ‘Snatch’.

At the turn of the decade, Price received two honorary academic achievements, courtesy of Brunel University (in Social Sciences) and the University of Wolverhampton, where he became an honorary Doctor of Design. He was knighted as a Member of the British Empire (MBE) not long after, for services to music and young people. With it, he became one of few electronic musicians to ever achieve such an award.

He produced official remixes for two globally-known pop stars, on Ed Sheeran’s Lego House (2017) and Jessie Ware’s Midnight (2018); he released his third studio album, The Journey Man, the likes of which drew reviews from several British newspapers, including The Times and The Guardian (2017); he collaborated with UK rap icon Skepta, on Upstart (2018); and he formed Subjective, a collaborative project with fellow drum and bass producer Submotive. The duo released their first album on Sony Music in 2020, with a second album set for release later this year.

His DJ achievements have been similarly successful. He began a seven-week residency at long-running London nightclub XOYO, selling out the venue multiple times in the process; he performed at global festival stages, including Glastonbury (UK), Tomorrowland (Belgium) and Primavera Sound (Spain); and he ventured into the classical music realm, hosting and performing full orchestral shows at two of London’s premiere concert halls: the Royal Albert Hall and Southbank Centre.
This iconic DJ/Producer will be taking a break from his 30 YEARS OF METALHEADZ tour dates to play a very special debut set at the Cheese & Grain this November.

This is a rare opportunity to see Goldie up close and personal!

Over the past couple of weeks, we've had the pleasure of working with Michael Rosen in both Frome and Bridport with our event co-organisers, 'SNG Live.'

4 shows over two days. Over 1800 people engaging with Michael's performances throughout.

A special thanks to the amazing teams at both the Cheese and Grain and Bridport Electric Palace for helping to make sure that these shows run smoothly.

A great couple of days with the living legend, in the company of great people.

We look forward to Michael returning to these venues!

We're honoured to have Mick Jagger's incredibly talented brother, Chris Jagger and his band join us at Westbury Festival for a very special intimate live show on Friday night! 😍

Chris Jagger is probably best known as a musician but he has had a long and varied career. He has written hundreds of songs which he has recorded and published with a dozen albums – some solo, some with his band Atcha.

He's also known for his costume design for the late great Jimi Hendrix!

The band features Elliet Mackrell on violin who knows Chris’s songs inside out and is a very accomplished player, Paul Atkinson on drums who has more than fifty years playing with a wealth of bands across the country and Paul O’Reilly – an excellent bassist.

It’s fifty years too since Chris released his first LP. He is pleased to note that vinyl is making a comeback and he has his recent excellent LP ‘Mixing up the Medicine’ to choose from as well as over a hundred recorded and published tracks.

Chris will be supported by special guests, including up and coming musician, 'Alfie Crinion.'

Award-winning Children’s Author, Michael Rosen returns for a 50th Anniversary show at The Cheese and Grain, Frome this summer!

The Somerset school summer holidays will be marked with a very special performance with the return of one of the world’s best-selling children’s authors and poet, Michael Rosen on Thursday 25th July!

2024 marks 50 years of Michael performing live. It’s also the anniversary of his first ever published collection of children’s poems in the famed, ‘Mind Your Own Business’ released in 1974.

To celebrate, local organsiers have teamed up with Frome illustrator/artist, Cole Henley to produce a 50th anniversary poster! Cole Henley was the leading artist in his joint collaboration with Michael Rosen’s, ‘You’re Thinking About Tomatoes’- Graphic Design by Jon Davies.

Michael Rosen’s performance in 2023 was a huge hit, selling our two back-to-back shows at The Cheese and Grain!

With over 140 books published and 55 million views on his YouTube Channel ‘Kids Poems and Stories with Michael Rosen', the Number 1 selling children's author is all set to return to the Cheese and Grain!

The past few months have been incredible! A busy schedule, with 13 events over 8 weeks. WHAT A RIDE! 😅

Much of the success wouldn't have been possible without the amazing people we've worked with over the past couple of months. Co-organisers, venue staff, security, bands, artists, engineers, agents, managers, local press, graphic designers, VJ, distributors and so many people who have but so much hard work in to these events. Especially our co-organisers who have collaborated with us to produce some memorable moments for thousands of people.

A shout out to Good Shout Events, SNG Live, FAB Promotions, Hit Or Miss, Cheese and Grain, Westbury Festival, Westbury Town Council, Rook Lane Chapel among many who we have worked with to help create and produce some amazing events! Cheers. 🙂

We're grateful for all the support and trust given to us to help make things happen. When it works it's a total BUZZ!

One of the UK’s most recognisable pop-rock icons is bringing the ultimate noughties nostalgia pop party to Frome this May. As Busted & Fightstar frontman the legendary Charlie Simpson will be taking to the decks at the Cheese & Grain.

The night will see the biggest pop hits from the 2000’s!

Busted had four UK number-one singles, performed to sold-out arenas across the UK, and went on to win two BRIT Awards for ‘Best Pop Act’ and ‘Best British Breakthrough’ in 2004. Over the course of their career, the group released four studio albums, and penned several mega hits including their debut single “What I Go To School For” and the follow up tracks “Year 3000”.
Charlie then went off to front the massively successful rock band Fightstar, as well as having critical and commercial acclaim with a solo career.

There are very few former professional English footballers who go on to become football managers of top-flight premiership clubs, winning an FA Cup, plus multiple league titles. It’s no wonder that Harry Redknapp is among the most successful football managers in English Football. Managing the likes of Spurs, Southampton, Portsmouth, Bournemouth, and West Ham. Harry was Honoured with ‘Manager Of The Season’ in 2009/2010 whilst manager at Tottenham Hotspur.

Harry’s ability to be a winner continued into retirement when he was crowned ‘King Of The Jungle”, winning the ITV’s hit TV series, ‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!’ in 2018.

Harry has gone on to publish several books, including the sefl-titled No.1 Sunday Times Best Seller, ‘Harry, My Autobiography’
