Simnel Cake. Originally, this cake was made for Mother’s Day, but it has for a long time been an essential Easter confection. The marzipan balls on the top representing the apostle’s, eleven in total as, for understandable reasons, Judas is persona non grata.

The next day I will be doing a dinner is Sunday 25th February and I am doing roast lamb or Sweet and Sour chicken. Hello and a Happy New Year. I have been asked by so many people when I am going to do roast dinners on a Sunday again that I am starting on Sunday 28th January . I am going to so just one Sunday a month and the next one in February I will give you the date nearer the time. The first one on the 28th January will be roast chicken, a selection of vegetables 🌽, roast potatoes , gravy and Yorkshire puddings and these will be £18. Thank you
