I don’t remember when I first came across Poppy from theweddingguestchaperone but I do know I instantly fell in love with her business! Getting old is a fact of life, but she offers the opportunity for elderly family members to be part of your wedding day without worrying about their needs.
I’ve only met her in person once or twice, but she is the loveliest most genuine person, definitely someone who I would want looking after my grandmother!

It’s national Boyfriend day and whilst this man stopped being my boyfriend a few years ago, I’m going to use the opportunity to big him up! He runs our TikTok account and posts here on the odd occasion when I ask him to! He’s the man I call when I need ideas and the man who listens when I’ve had a bad day. He runs to the boutique late at night if I’ve left something there or comes with me when I tell him I need help moving something around. He’s also the reason I can offer last minute and late night appointments and never complains when our plans change last minute. I’ve referred to him in the past as the MPV of The Bridal Store and I stand by that! Without him, I wouldn’t be able to offer the service we do.

The shop floor is no exception! The layout wasn’t fully working for us, whilst I loved the showing area in the natural light, photos were hard to take, so today we moved everything round again!

We love a fitted dress, but did you know, there's more than 1 shape of fitted dress! A column dress hugs the hips and slowly tapers back out, a fit and flare dress comes in under the bum showing off your amazing curves and a fish tail comes in at the knees before dramatically showing off its skirt! Are you a column, fit and flare or a fishtail person? Can you work out the which is which here? Let me know in the comments! (OK, so maybe I was unfair choosing a dress with a split dress for the fit and flare!)

Hey Bride! We know shopping for a wedding dress can be overwhelming, so here are our top 5 tips for preparing for your appointment. 1. Set a budget and be honest with your bridal consultant. If the budget includes accessories and alterations, let your consultant know so she can guide you to an appropriate selections of dresses. 2. Bridal consultants love to see their photos! Bring all the inspiration photos, show us pictures of what you want, it really does help. 3. Start shopping 12-18 months in advance. Don’t get me wrong, I can get a dress in 2-6 weeks and we love a short date bride, but there is so much more choice available for a bride who has 52 weeks! 4. Underwear matters. If you’re not going to be wearing a padded bra on the day of your wedding, don’t wear a bra that adds 2 cup sizes! If you’re conscious of your tummy wear some shape wear. Shape wear can definitely offer some extra reassurance on your wedding dress shopping day! 5. Keep your entourage small. Feel free to bring close friends and family, but too many people means that often your thoughts, ideas and feelings get pushed aside.
