We know shopping for a wedding dress can be overwhelming, so here are our top 5 tips for preparing for your appointment.
1. Set a budget and be honest with your bridal consultant. If the budget includes accessories and alterations, let your consultant know so she can guide you to an appropriate selections of dresses.
2. Bridal consultants love to see their photos! Bring all the inspiration photos, show us pictures of what you want, it really does help.
3. Start shopping 12-18 months in advance. Don’t get me wrong, I can get a dress in 2-6 weeks and we love a short date bride, but there is so much more choice available for a bride who has 52 weeks!
4. Underwear matters. If you’re not going to be wearing a padded bra on the day of your wedding, don’t wear a bra that adds 2 cup sizes! If you’re conscious of your tummy wear some shape wear. Shape wear can definitely offer some extra reassurance on your wedding dress shopping day!
5. Keep your entourage small. Feel free to bring close friends and family, but too many people means that often your thoughts, ideas and feelings get pushed aside. Keep it to 3-4 close family and friends who you know will help you to make your decision.
