“We chose Gorwell for our wedding in July 2024, booking two years prior.

Mary and the Team are fantastic, you can really tell that they want your big day to be a success. Mary was full of recommendations for vendors, which was amazing as it can definitely feel overwhelming.

Throughout the communication was fantastic and there was no such thing as a silly question.

The Farm and the cottages were fantastic and being able to get married outside under the trees was incredible.

Snowscape ❄️

We didn’t get a white Christmas this year but it did snow in November!

And we do love seeing The Barn in all four seasons. But, it really is gorgeous on a crisp, snowy winters day 🌨️

Greymare Cottage takes its name from the English Heritage ancient long barrow site found here at Gorwell Farm.

This charming, semi-detached stone cottage, built around 150 years ago, has been thoughtfully furnished to reflect its character while ensuring modern comfort and safety.

With space to sleep up to six guests plus a cot, the cottage features three bedrooms, two bathrooms, central heating, and a log fire. A bright conservatory opens onto a lovely garden, perfect for relaxing, and the property is equipped with WiFi to keep you connected.

The Grey Mare and Her Colts can be found here at Gorwell Farm and are part of the South Dorset Ridgeway ancient landscape 🌿

Well worth a visit, this long barrow is a Neolithic burial monument built around 5,000 years ago.

Your Beautiful Cottage 🏡

Bride Cottage is a pretty semi-detached, comfortable and well equipped cottage. It is named after the local river which has a tributary source found in our wooded valley before it flows out to the sea in West Dorset.

The cottage sleeps 2-4 plus a cot with a double room, that has its own en-suite bathroom and a twin bedded room with accompanying shower room.

Couples enjoy staying in this aptly named Bride Cottage as a wonderful get away from it all honeymoon in the beautiful surroundings of rural Dorset.

The cottage can be enjoyed as a self catering escape or as the perfect accommodation for your wedding here at The Barn.
