A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the Village Hall Fundraising Quiz such a fantastic and successful evening!

Special thanks to Hagar for putting together such a diverse and entertaining set of questions, keeping us all on our toes throughout the night. Thanks also to Graham for expertly running the bar and keeping the technology behaving itself, and to Marianna and Wendy for boosting the fundraising efforts with a brilliant raffle.

A big thank you as well to The Lowndes Arms for supplying the delicious hot pizzas enjoyed throughout the evening. The collaboration between the pub and the Village Hall worked brilliantly, and is definitely something we’ll be doing again!

The quiz itself was a fiercely close battle! Defending champions “Quarantined Behinds” fought valiantly, but couldn’t quite hold off the challenge from “Crystal Methodists” — who themselves were dramatically pipped at the post by “Quiz Me Kate”!
Huge congratulations to the winners on a well-earned victory.

Most importantly, thank you to everyone who came along, took part, and supported the Village Hall. A wonderful evening with great company, plenty of laughs, and fantastic community spirit.

Also we are showing our support for the village pub, The New Lowndes Arms, by offering quiz players the opportunity to purchase fresh pizzas from the pub which will be delivered hot to the hall.

There are two time slots.
Before the quiz starts: 7-8pm
Or leading up to half time: 8.30-9pm

Thank you for your fantastic support at Whaddon’s Big Night Out with Selby and Friends yesterday evening.

Thanks to your generosity, we raised £740 for Daisy Bessell’s Fundraising for MIND, the mental health charity, along with a tidy sum for the Village Hall coffers from the bar — where the more dedicated drinkers among you managed to drink us dry of most of our most popular beverages!

A huge thank you goes to all the musicians who generously gave their time to perform.

Here’s a quick reminder of the talented artists who entertained us:

Scott Blackledge
Scott is a Bedford-based singer-songwriter who describes his songs as therapy for himself — and then happily inflicts them on the rest of the world.

Amy Fleur
Amy is a singer-songwriter from Northamptonshire, blending powerful vocals with raw, emotional lyrics.

Dave Crawford
Dave is a local singer-guitarist who has played with a number of local bands. He treated us to an eclectic set of easy-listening songs — some you’ll have heard before and some you may have discovered for the first time.

Selby
Our very own Whaddon-based band, who come together for the joy of playing and hopefully brought smiles to your faces and dancing urges to your feet.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came along to our Charity Fundraiser Country & Western Evening at the village hall last night!

What a fantastic night it was — full of great music, dancing, laughter, and wonderful community spirit.

We’re so grateful to everyone who supported the event and helped us raise funds both for MIND, the mental health charity and for the upkeep of the village hall. Your generosity and enthusiasm made the evening truly special.

A very special thank you to all those who made the event possible — from the amazing helpers who worked so hard behind the scenes and on the night, to our fabulous live band Taylor'd Country who kept the dance floor buzzing all evening 🎶

And of course, a big shout-out to Willie's Garden Kitchen for the delicious food — it went down an absolute treat! 🌮🍔

We couldn’t have done it without you all. Thank you for making it such a memorable evening — we hope you had as much fun as we did!

A first time victory for Whaddon's own Quarantined Behinds, who brought the coveted quiz trophy back to the village! Congratulations team QB. A narrow, but convincing victory. And many thanks to all the other teams who pitted their wits against each other, too. Finally, thanks to Mark Carter as quizmaster, with a predictably quirky, hilarious and brain-bending set of questions! Here's to the next one!
